Now that the contest is over, I present for your evaluation my get home bag. It's not perfect, but its where I am right now. I will point out the shortcomings I see, but I am very interested in hearing your thoughts on this as well.
First, the bag: A Kelty Redwing 3100 ci pack. A very civilian looking, well built pack that carries a heavy load quite well.

Clothes (Not pictured: Sherpa rain shell jacket)
This is definitely a summer weight clothing arrangement. I'll be adding another layer or two for winter.

Food:

As you can see, I carry some food. A LOT of food. And why shouldn't I? If I have to use this bag for its intended purpose, something really bad has gone down. I'll be working harder than usual and under a lot of stress. My body is going to need those calories, and a warm meal under these circumstances will be very welcome. Plus, I like food, and make a point of eating some every day.
Pictured: 2 Ready Rice, 5 Knorr (formerly Lipton) pasta side dishes, two tuna pouches, one salmon pouch, 2 Lipton cup o' soups, 5 Cliff bars.
Other stuff:

Pictured: Brunton recharger, Mechanix gloves, Garmin eTrex GPS, pry bar, MSR cookwear, M.95 Puukko Ranger knife, Swiss army knife, duct tape.
Not pictured: Motorola Droid.
A couple of observations:
1. Lots of food, nothing to eat it with. I really need to add some utensils.
2. No extra batteries. I need to add some extra batteries for all of my gadgets.
3. No comms. I'll be adding a 2m HT with general coverage reception here in the next few weeks.
4. The MSR cookware takes up an awful lot of room. I think I'll just add a stainless steel water bottle and use that for cooking and boiling water.
5. No, there are no weapons in this pack. I live in the People's Republic of Maryland where a concealed carry permit might as well be made of unobtainium.
6. I'd like to add some sort of bivy to the sleep and shelter component. I think that would give me a wider range of temperatures
7. There is one glaring omission missing from this bag: cash! I think every GHB should have at least a grand worth of cash stashed away inside of it. I don't have that kind of $$ right now, but need to start saving up so I have this covered.
Pour me another drink and pass the ammunition.
