Must Ministries UPDATE!

Postby DamageG.A.Z.E. » Mon Jan 18, 2010 10:49 am

I have contact the volunteer coordinator about possibly doing some work with them. They are a organzation/shelter that is dedicated to Atlanta's homeless community. It is a strictly local charity, and there are three locations one in Cherokee, one in Marietta, and one in Smyrna. I contacted the Marietta location. Things we might be able to do for them is help serving a meal, collect donations, or anything else we can do to help out. I've worked with them before on a personal level and they a good organization. Here's the link. http://www.mustministries.org/marietta/index.aspx I'll keep you guys updated, lemme know who's interested in helping out.

As soon as I recover from the Flu I'd be willing to help out. I was told I'll be graduating from gatorade to gatorade and crackers soon!

I've worked with them via Boy Scouts and ROTC in the past. Sure, I'd be willing to join in. :D

Ok. So I talked to one of the coordinators of Must via email and will call her later on in the afternoon for further details, she said:

"We are currently in the middle of a coat drive for MUST ministries. We have asked people to bring in gently used or new coats to donate or even hats and mittens. I will forward you the weekly e mail I receive from MUST which lists all their current needs and any volunteer opportunities. We do a monthly dinner and laundry day for MUST at the shelter on Cobb Parkway. This is done by Sunday School classes and is ongoing."

So, there opportunities for a possible drive of our own for them, or even just basic volunteering, so I ll update the thread this evening after to I talk to her via phone.

Speaking of MUST Ministries, my Boy Scout troop is hosting a program called Scouting For Food. Each year, we run a collection of non-perishable goods and donate them to MUST. If anyone that is in the Atlanta/North Atlanta Area (Roswell, Marietta, Woodstock, etc.), please contact me. If you have a vehicle, that would be great. We need as many volunteers as possible, and getting pictures of us standing in front of lots of donations would be a great way to promote ZS and my troop. Personally, I'd be doing it for both ZS and the troop. So please, let me know if you're interested.

I like this it would be a great cross promotion. Maybe we can have an education class on prepping with the boy scouts as well.

I think that my people will marvel at a bunch of Zombie Hunters. :-P A lot of my peers at school have been asking me what ZS is, and they're rather interested. But yeah, cross promotion would be great.

Update Folks:

If anyone, ANYONE who lives near Marietta Georgia is available Feb 27-28 OR March 6-7, please let me know. The Boy Scouts are in desperate need of help with our food drive. Please PM me or reply here if anyone is interested in helping. I will then explain the details.
