Ok it's been two weeks since I posted. I just forgot. Anyways, I haven't lost anything, in two weeks I've stayed at 215. I haven't changed my eating and I'm still working out. My clothing continues to loosen up and I've had to tighten up my belt again, but the weight isn't going down and I'm starting to get discouraged. I'm going to move the dumbbell set upstairs to my bedroom and start doing some more work out in that way. I hope to lose some more soon.

Great job to all those who have continued to lose weight. Keep it up.

I think I am down 1lb in the last week. around 192-193lbs. It is really hard to tell with my scale. I may have to break down and by a new one this weekend.

The same thing is happening with me. I didnt lose any weight this past week, but more and more people are mentioning that I look like I have lost weight. Remember, muscle mass weighs a lot more than fat; is it possible you are building lean mass while you drop the excess? If your clothes fit looser, then SOMETHING is happening, even if the scale doesnt show it.

For my part, I am walking 4 miles 5 days a week. When I started, it was 2 miles a couple times a week. It makes a difference. (Oh, and yesterday I started walking with my go bag - so I am carrying ten pounds, AND walking farther and faster than before)

Keep it up, I dont trust my scales anyway.

Good on you guys!

And, also, would anyone be interested in a skinny boy version of this? I'm 5'9 and 155, been trying to put on muscle, having some buddies would definitely help.

Eat a lot of pizza. Drink more beer. It worked for me.

I went from 191 to 157.5 in a matter of 6 months by simply throwing out fast food, microwave food and soda; while picking up smoking again. No I'm not kidding. I still haven't moved, so my getting back to my old standard is still on hold. Muscles are still nowhere near where they were 5 years ago (as in they're soft now), but once I start that P90X that will hopefully change.

P90x is what I threaten myself with if I dont lose at least 1 pound a week.

Thanks, and yes, my boss was a personal trainer. He's been helping me out with just about everything. I got up to 160, then went on vacation, and dropped 5. Oh well, being an ectomorph has its ups and downs.

I have yet to weigh myself throughout this whole competition.. I just moved into a new (to me) house Friday, and I have been to the gym 3 times since then with my new housemates. We've played a solid 1-2 hours of decently competitive Basketball each time. The round trip walk to and from the gym is probably around 1.5 miles. Not much, but getting college kids to walk anywhere when there is a car in the driveway is an achievement.

I don't know where the scale is in this gym, but I definitely need to find one soon.

Well, I haven’t posted in this tread for about 2 weeks b/c of an internet problem but I’m back and I FINALLY have some great progress to update ya’ll about. Two weeks ago my wife came to me with permission in hand from her OB/GYN (We have a 7 week old) giving her permission to start working out again. What this meant for me was we’re getting a gym membership, and that there was going to another body in the house working out and getting into shape. Talk about a close support system!

Well we sucked up the liquid cash we had laying around and bought out way into a pretty nice gym. It has several locations that are 24hrs which is good for us night workers. Later that day my wife comes to me and says that she knows how to work out, and she knows I’ve always struggled so she thought it might be a good idea to get a personal trainer. I was surprised because they’re not cheap and even though it’s always been something I’ve kind of been interested in it’s also something I never thought I’d do.

So later that week I went back to the gym and began to interview the trainers, I talked to a couple and finally found a guy that I thought was a good fit. We got started that day and I’ve seen him 3 times since. I’ve also been to the gym everyday this week doing bikes, and some free weights. I’m really beginning to feel better. I was also amazed at how quickly my self image changed. I already feel like I look better and even though I know it’s all in my head, it makes me excited to keep going.

I hadn’t weighed since my last post in here ( 260) and received a huge surprise today when I weighed in @ 254. I was flabbergasted. I know it’s not all just this week at the gym (my wife and I are eating in, and controlling our portions.) but it’s still a great motivator. Anyway, that’s my story.

254 down from 260!

This is not so much a challenge as it is a reality of maybe 5 lbs.
While playing xbox,playstation,globalcombat,etc.
instead of sitting on a couch, chair, stool.,
try a workout ball., no matter the size of the ball and whatever works for you best,
it will help with your core.
It's great in between games for crunches or just trying to keep your balance
while playing.

please don't hurt yourself., I have taken a couple of spills.

complete failure this week. Ate out several times, only went to the gym twice. Gained 2 lbs. So I had a brilliant idea  to go to 'Fitness Bootcamp' on saturday. My legs have still not fully forgiven me. Excellent high-intesity work out... I overestimated my abilities. Apparently in a zombie outbreak and I had to run/fight them off I would last a half hour. tops. Very much need to get into shape.. back to to program!!!

Well, I'm in on this thing now.
I started last week (Monday or Tuesday) at 264. After Paddlefest and a good dump I'm at 257.2. Other changes that I have made include dropping non-diet soda completely and cutting down on diet soda consumption drastically. I'm walking at least a mile every-other night and am trying for every night. Lunch is now salad (when I can afford it, that stuffs expensive in midtown) or tightly controlled portions of Ramen for when I'm broke. Breakfast is, as always, a Whole-Wheat bagel with butter and a cup of coffee. My target weight is 225-230 but more importantly I want to adopt a healthy lifestyle that I can maintain in the long run. The weight loss will hopefully let me start taking Krav Maga without killing my knees.
Good Luck to All!

Thinking and hiding (smartly) is better than running! Just because you have 30 minutes endurance doesnt mean you lost. I wonder if I'd have 30 seconds of attention span to run before I would just turn around and say "lets do this" and see what happens next... I get bored fast and I'd rather destroy zombies than run from them =D

No losses this week for me either apperantly....scale still says 140. I'm not too suprised though since I skipped the gym to prep for Paddlefest. You would think 3 days of canoe work would have made up the difference but not so much. I'm thinking of bringing out the measuring tape and keeping track of the inches I'm losing (helps me stay motivated when the weight itself has plateaued, some of you guys might want to give it a try). Also cutting out almost all "junk" and using fruit as my treat rather than chocolate. Hoping this will kick things into gear again.

Fell off the diet wagon some last week when my Lady went into the hospital. I was getting off work and going straight to her hospital room and ate lots of drivethu meals that week. Now she's home and I'm back on the wagon. I got on the scale at work last night and I'm down another pound, 301lbs. I can't wait to drop 2 more pounds and get below 300.

ok no weight loss this last week or two, but still losing over all size. I had to drop another notch in my belt to keep my pants on and my wife is noticing I'm a lot easier to hug lately. We started organizing our garage and I found the clamps to the dumbbell my cousin lent me. I'm going to move it into the master bed room so I can do some lifting in the evening and in the mornings. So hopefully next week I'll see some actually weight loss. Good job everyone.

I give up about this scale. In the morning it says I am 190 (yay, down 10lbs!), then in the evening it will say I weigh 195 (wtf?!). Next morning it says I am at 190 (wtf is going on?!). To make it even clearer I am wearing the exact same thing and the scale in is the exact same location both times I weigh in.

So in 8 weeks I have lost between 5 and 10lbs depending on the time of day
The tape measure doesn't lie though. Down a full inch around the waist. :)

both weights are correct, things tend to fluctuate pretty drastically during the day, hence keeping your weigh in time consistant. Keep it up! :-)

I reached a milestone today. This morning as I was about to clock out from work at the hospital when I made a detour to the pediatric rehab unit where I've been scaleing in. I kicked off my shoes, stepped onto the scale and moved the weights over to the 300lb mark. The scale did not move.
 :o I was under 300 but how far? So I moved the big weight to the 250 mark and started moving the small weight to the right along the bar until it got to 48lbs and centered. There it was, 298lbs even.
The good thing about working security is they pay us to walk around. I have been walking the parking garage up and down each night this week until I was exhausted. I've been doing exterior patrols of the buildings. In short, I've been moving and it is paying off.
So I'm finally down below 300. That's about 35 pounds less than I weighed when I started at the hospital in April 2008.
My next goal is 285lbs. Woohoo.

Aha.. in that case I pick the morning time. ;) Yay! -10 lbs! Go me! lol
I skipped fitness bootcamp this week because my knee was warning of early mutiny if I went. That and I had a lot of gardening plans to do this weekend that I am pretty sure would be left undone if I went judging by last week.
Instead I spent all day yesterday digging a new area in the garden to put strawberries that have multiplied and escaped their planters. I think I got more exercise working all day in the yard than I would have in 1 hr hour cardio-blitz anyway.
