Bentmywookie made it to 80, so I dumped a ton of gold onto my secondary alt (Jannedela, Belf Mage) and moved Bent over to Wildhammer, where Blood Frenzy took him in and RAPIDLY began instancing and gearing him up (he has 5 purples after 24 hours of membership.. god bless easy Naxx for being easy!).

I also switched him from Feral to Balance, and in said 24 hours his spell power DOUBLED from improvements to his equipment :)

I probably won't get a lot of chances to instance once I go to my new unit (supposedly this Tuesday), but we'll see.

In any case, I still have characters here in ZS. Jannedela, again, is my main on Magtheridon now.

Keep in touch :)

My main toon is still on Cairne but I've been thinking lately that I might move her. I have to admit, though, that it took me 2 months to level her from 70 to 74 because of the grinding grind, I just got tired of it so stopped playing as much. It's kind of ridiculous. I guess on the next expansion, having to grind 100 million XP to level will be normal. Pretty soon it will take weeks for a casual player just to move up a level. Blargh. What I wish I could do is move her from Cairne to Mag and turn her into a Belf, but I don't think faction jumping's possible, huh?

I guess it might help if my guild on Cairne weren't so tiny. The first guild I was in was 500 members, and this one is 35 at least check. I kind of miss having an enormous guild, yunno, there is always SOMEONE on who wants to quest or instance or just grind and hang out for an hour or two.

If you're having trouble levelling, I suggest downloading WoWmatrix (to manage addons), and Carbonite (to help you track quests).

After I grabbed Carbonite I levelled like three times faster.

That said, it truly is a pain in the ass to level in Outland. Northrend is a good deal easier.

Yeah, I've got all the addons to map the quests and whatnot. It's not that I'm having trouble so much as I'm just bored to tears with the grind, grind, grind. It's like going to work! I'm not much into PVP. So end-game stuff and grinding is where my thing is, only with a guild of people who are never on, I never see anyone to quest with, and forget endgame.

I get game cards in 2 month increments so I don't have to keep paying for it when I don't want to play (and also that I'm broke and can't afford to keep a subscription). My last card ran out about 2 weeks ago and I hadn't played for about 2 weeks before that, and I haven't really missed it.

I imagine I'll probably be looking to play again over summer, though, when it's too hot to do anything outside.

I keep running into high level allys, and getting ganked. I haven't hardly been able to make any progress, as I've been spending a lot of time running from graveyards back to where I got offed.
Makes me miss the ol' "normal" realm.

On the brighter side, I slipped in a new GPU (was operating with the onboard video adaptor) and wow. Beddy beddy nice.
Now I can run the detail levels up to a decent level, with smooth framerates. Also, in the same vein, I can run Flight Sim X
on that computer with decent scenery now, too. Next upgrade, RAM... after that, I'll pull the ol' single core CPU and run
a duallie.
Maybe that'll keep me outta the new computer market for a little longer. Can't afford a new one at the moment.

I forgot to mention, I have a 58ish Death Knight on Magtheridon who is I suppose technically my 'main' now (Not Jannedela, who is still in her 20s).

Velo, if you want some help versus allies, just let me know the time and I'll be there on my DK :)

Hey, guys. I'm looking for a couple things to finish some crafting quests for Beefyjym.

I need 7 (giant egg)s, and either the plans for the (solid iron maul) or just a couple of the
mauls themselves.

If anyone can help, thanks in advance. I'm sitting at Ghostwalker Post waiting for the plans
to spawn with Muuran, but it's been a while and I'm wondering whether I'll ever see 'em.

Are Giant Eggs BoP? If not you should be able to find them on the auction house - even barring that they should be somewhat easy to farm. Check wowhead.

I got to my new unit, and lo and behold, the entire regiment is on block leave.

Translation: Easy days and early release most of the time. I've almost completely epic'd Bentmywookie out. Gimme another week ;)

Every now and then I play one of my lower alts (Jannedela, or my warrior Torve) just for a change of pace. They're both on Magtheridon, in the guild.

Since they're needed for the Artisan Cooking quest, the AH eggs are muy-pricey... and I'm still a cow of modest means.
As for farming them, I'm just getting to the point where I can grind some out (lvl 40). The lowest level critter that yields
them IIRC, is around 47 or so, the Rocs in Tanaris.
If I don't run across any before then, I'll level into that area anyway. I've been looking for 'em since about level 35, though, and
farming 'em was pretty much out of the question without an escort.

I did find the maul pattern, so I was able to finish the 'smithing quest just fine.

Stranglethorn is a real gank-fest today. There's a group of high level Ally (obviously with no real business in the area) camping Nesingwary's camp, as well as the nearby graveyard.

Shalumar and Vicksy were the two names I noticed, as they quickly killed me.
I had a fairly heavy repair bill after I finally found a place to hide and rez, and FINALLY
managed to hearth without getting ganked in the process.

Didn't get anything accomplished during my time online, when I probably would have finished
4 or 5 decent quests. I also get the urge to find lower level contested areas to lay in wait for
lower level allys, just to get a little revenge... but then I'd be just as bad as the assholes I'm
ranting about.

You don't get durability damage from pvp deaths.

Now, if they're hitting you down to critical and letting a mob finish you off.. well, you must've been questing during primetime, which is a no-no in STV ;)

Don't worry, when you're 80 you'll be able to run roughshod over places like Astranaar in Ashenvale, and it's very theraputic ;)

All you can do is just find something productive to do while the kiddies gank other folks. Back when I was levelling there I used to fish and gather lots of Stranglekelp (since I had aquatic form). Whenever I needed to get from STV to Booty Bay I just swam, it was far less risky PVP wise ;)

Durability damage was from trying to rez at the spirit healer. Unfortunately, they had that covered, and two other gankers were camped near there.

These guys were obviously way too high-level to be doing anything useful there (they weren't mining or gathering anything), and were too well prepared for my attempts at escape. I don't have it in me to reciprocate, when I meet lower level Ally. I'm just not the type to attack folks for the "fun" of it.
Especially when it's no more difficult or challenging than stepping on a ladybug.

I guess I'm just cruel-hearted ;)

Anyway, unless you were WAY out in the far reaches of STV, you could've just rez-hopped all the way back to your flight master (although if they were half decent they probably had him killed, too). Sounds like this was an organized PVP event, probably one or more guilds participating. I'm honestly surprised Horde didn't respond - there are whole guilds out there devoted solely to world PVP.

STV is basically hell for anyone looking to PvE, as long as you realize that the rest of the game usually isn't that bad you'll be fine :P

In Other News:
Bentmywookie recently picked up a manual that taught "Find Fish" from a pool of garbage in Zangarmarsh.

This doesn't sound like much, until you factor in that Deep Sea Monsterbelly pools are a bit rare in Northrend and being able to spot them on your radar makes hunting for fish easier by an order of magnitude.

Also, right now, stacks of Deep Sea Monsterbellies (which are a component for the ever-popular Huge Feast recipe) sell for between 90-120 gold on the auction house. Very easy money :)

In other, OTHER news:
Apparently the cute girl that works in my shop plays a Boomkin (I am also Boomkin now, to help my guild with raid dps) on Uther. She's Alliance, though.

If I weren't so busy on Wildhammer I'd transfer just to gank her ;)

Wonder if she's single. :)

What happened to the guild? I'd been investing in the GB... and it's gone.

Dunno man, I haven't played my Magtheridon toons in a while now. Everyone who joined the ZS guild had better toons to play on, with the exception of you and Deschain and occasionally Grifter.

I moved my main and my two alts that I plan to level to 80 to Wildhammer to join a guild one of my Army buddies is in.

They don't do as much raiding now as they used to, though, so I may end up finding a new guild or transferring yet again. :|

Well, mostly I'm sad to see ZS fade out there, but I have to wonder where all the goodies/cash went. My last guild on Medivh was ninja'd by a hastily chosen guildmaster when the old one decided to quit the game... just sold everything, kept the gold, and folded the guild. I'd hate to think of a ZS'er doing the same

You'd have to ask whoever had GM rights at the time, bro. I didn't.

If they disbanded the guild then it stands to reason they did something with everything in the GBank. It also stands to reason that they won't admit to it if they did.

For anyone who don't want to pay the monthly fee or buy game cards, you could try a private server. The one I am playing on is Eternion. It has instant 80 servers, instant 70 (where you then quickly level to 80) and high rates servers where you start out at lvl 1, but then level very quickly. It's a little buggy, but free. Of course if you donate to the server you can get VIP status where you can buy mats for tradeskills other players can't and get some good armor. Some of the servers are still on 3.09 and others are on 3.10 so I have two versions of the game running off of a portable hard drive.

I just suspended my account on Bliz, as I really don't feel like paying that much per month for the few hours I was playing. I have an account on WowBeez, which seems to work pretty well, but it really attracts a lot of the worst sort of player. Lots of instant-gratification "kill it if it moves" sorta kids.
I may log back in, now that I'm more familiar with how WoW works, after leveling a couple toons on Bliz servers.

Thinking about cancelling my sub as well. It's money I'm effectively not using at this point.

I get all the dungeon-crawling, RPG action I need from nethack (and without all the annoying grinding and dealing with asshat players).

Every couple of months, I come to the same conclusion. It's not worth my time, since I'd rather be playing single player games (Bioshock, Dead Space and Mass Effect have been the last three big ones). But I have one IRL buddy who keeps sucking me down into the world of his shit-tacular guild. These asshats are the kind of guild that takes an outside tank and 70 minutes to clear OS10. It's a miracle they can do heroics. Before my surgery, I was in the 21st best raiding guild on the server. They kicked me as an (understandably) non-contributing member while I was slung up.

Now, I daily ask myself- is today a good day to quit?

I have made it to level 80 with a few characters on WoW. However, I really find myself bored everytime I play. I wish that the Shadowrun game that recently came out would have been an MMORPG. It just turned out to be a terrible FPS. :(

I play mostly on Boulderfist now. I'm in a guild run by a friend I've known for years. I just in the last few days logged back on after being gone several months and am already pretty bored with it. I know what the problem is... it's that nothing changes. Same grind, same quests, same slow-ass plodding down forest lanes until you get a mount, same tiny bags, same broke-ness and same AH where a piece of level 5 gear costs 10g.

The patch the other day changed a bunch of stuff. And now you can get mounts at 20. Which makes it less time consuming, at least.

I haven't even bothered getting purples for my 80, though. And I came back after those months of absence to find my guild and the GB vanished, and the people I played with most left the game or became bank toons. :|
