Blast and his Traveling Edible Wild Plants Roadshow (Pics)

Postby arrowolf » Tue Dec 27, 2011 9:52 pm

Ok, some of us were wanting to try to get Blast up here to share some of his foraging knowledge with us. He and I have been trying to work it out. Well, it seems he will probably be scheduling an event at a farm in Navarro County (near Corsicana) in April, probably the 7th. We've been invited to attend (along with the Chapter 14 peeps and any others who want to make the journey) but there's a catch. Because of the way it's gonna be set up, it will cost us $20 a person for adults to attend. I need to know if this would be something ya'll would support.

Here are his websites so you can see what you would be buying:

Phil, I surely would have thought you would be involved in XXX, but I see you are still sporting your 14 banner. What's the story there?

014 got organized first and I helped w/ that. 030 had enough folks to get them going, and didn't need too much help. I'm about 90 minutes from NW Houston and about 90 minutes from Austin, so it is a wash as to which is closer. I will likely to go some of both's events, just like I've been out to 013 Zombie Fry and will try to get up to this one

His classes at the Arboretum in Houston run $65, so this is a pretty good deal. I'm definitely coming up for it.

Oh Hell Yea! I'll have to dig for that $20 & probably have to take a day off and some other sacrifices
but I won't miss that kind of education.

Hell this sort of thing is why I hooked up with you folks. Well that & you are all just a little off kilter

I've just looked at Merriweathers site looking to sign up. The only thing I found so far for April is the 22 at the Houston Arboretum. If CS19 folks are still interested we / I should probably contact him for more Info.

This is where the class will be. Eden Creek Farm is picking up most of the tab for Mark's expenses. ZS members will have to pay $20 for the class. The schedule will say the class is full but the class includes all ZS members who show. There will probably be some ZS:14 members there and maybe XXX members also. AMS will be bringing his Scout Troop in the morning. There was some rumor about camping available but I'll have to confirm that. We'll see about carpooling to save bucks when the time gets closer.

Shouldn't be since AFAIK, it's all-inclusive for ZS peeps. We'll just claim him as a new member.
