Good news gang...

The ZS BoD has spoken... The patch/decal is now approved for use by ZSRC members. :)

Now we need to find a shop to make them, and I have just the place in mind. The owner is even a ZS forum member. Unfortunately, his web site says he's not taking any new orders until after January 3rd, because he's swamped with Christmas orders. With that in mind I don't want to bother him with this now, so I'll contact him after the holidays.

Patches or decals? I'd take a decal, but a couple patches would be sweet.

I'll also look into a supplier who can do patches, and maybe things like embroidered ballcaps, but usually those things need to be done in quantities of 50 or more for the prices to be reasonable. And, of course, anything made with the logo would be sold at actual cost, with no inflated "shipping & handling" charges. Decals can go in an envelope and ship for the cost of a stamp and it bugs me when I buy something like that from someone who charges $4.99 s&h for such an item. I don't like that so I won't do it to someone else.

Of course, the place I'm thinking of asking to do the decals might not require a quantity order, and be willing to carry them on their own site, so that would make things a lot easier.

I'll know more after the holidays.

I'd rather wait on a patch from a fellow ZS'er, to be honest.
I have no witty quotes at the moment.

I don't know of any ZS members that make patches, but then again, I'm pretty new around here. If you know of any ZS member who does make patches then by all means, contact them and see what they say.

So the guy you know just does decals? Still not totally sucky, but if we luck up I'd be happy to have a real patch...

The shop I'm thinking of is this one: http://randygeorgewoodworking.com/online_store/

He has the advantages of being a ham himself, a ZS forum member, and I know for a fact that he does quality work and treats his customers right because he's done a lot of the graphics on my two trucks.

I agree, both would be nice, and I'm really liking the idea of a ballcap.

In any case, I'm headed out to the west coast Sunday, so I won't have time to really look into any of this until I get back. But this isn't "my show" in any way, shape, or form. I just kicked the design up the line to the ZS folks in charge of such things for their approval, and I happened to know Randy and the quality of his work. Anyone interested is certainly free to research possible vendors if they want to, and it would help to get a few different quotes on this stuff.

I see that ZS patches are sold on the main Zombie Hunters Store web page.
http://zombiehunters.org/cart/
Maybe we should be using the same source? Or perhaps even ask for these items to go in the store? I have no idea how they work that.

The response I got back from the BoD included a request for info on where we would have them (decals) made, because the BoD is apparently working on putting together a list of ZS vendors. Here's an excerpt from the exchange of messages:

Sorry to keep you waiting. The patch is approved!

Also, we were curious who you'll be using to produce it. We're compiling a list of potential vendors for HQ stuff.

Thanks!
Chris Cyr

That's super news! Let me know if the vendors prefer the graphic in other formats. I believe I have saved stuff for embroidery as encapsulated postscript in the past.

If there is I'll try to make it, but the wife and I are flying out to Monterey, CA tomorrow morning, so I may not be able to get the laptop up and connected in time.

Also, I'm not finding that callsign of yours in the FCC database, did you type it correctly in your sig?

Weird... It's not showing up in the ULS for me.

Duh! I guess it helps if I actually type it instead of cutting and pasting it from your sig. That slashed zero was screwing up the search. :)

Wow. It's nice to see someone working on this. I really dropped the ball due to personal/work issues, but it seems like it's still a going concern. Will monitor to see if I can assist.
