Traditional Fire by Friction - Bow Drill & More workshop on Feb 5th

Location
Millersylvania State Park
12245 Tilley Rd S
Olympia, WA 98512
http://www.meetup.com/Wolf-Journey-Classes-in-the-South-Puget-Sound-Region/calendar/15842699/

The workshop runs 10 AM - 4 PM and cost is just $45 for one person, $40 for a second friend/family member, $35 per additional friend/family member, and includes all the materials you'll need for the day, and in fact, you'll go home with a (hopefully completed) bow drill kit valued at about the cost of the workshop itself! You can also buy the inexpensive survival knives, flint and steel kits, and resource books we provide for use during the workshop, by donation to our scholarship fund.

Become an expert fire maker!

Can you imagine that after just one day of training, you could become the best expert on fire making and fire tending in your family and neighborhood? Who do you know that can light a campfire in the cold, using all-natural materials from a wet environment? Maybe a couple people. Who can start a fire without a lighter, matches, or anything from the store? By the end of the day, the answer will probably be you!

We have a lot of new people so I figured I would start posting these classes again. I have been to several of their classes and they have always been excellent.

I can also vouch for this program. Have attended the wilderness medicinal plant seminar and the wildlife tracking, and agree with Pasha that it is very good stuff.

I'm now signed up for this. It is no longer in Olympia, but in their Puyallup HQ, where they did the medicinal plants class.

The class was awesome. I feel that I have got the bow drill down to the point that it will be another skill builder for summergeddon. :D
Unfortunately I forgot my camera so no pics. :(
Next month they are doing a medicinal plant class, which I plan to attend.

It was a great class, glad I went. I was able to get everything put together all right for a first time, and got the coal going...but killed it several times trying to get it to keep going and not die on the way to the tinder bundle.

I think next time I'll peg it though.

The medicinal plant class is great, I went to the last one.
