A home store right next to a Walmart!

Postby Roy Hazard » Wed Feb 02, 2005 8:08 am

In the city where I live we have a Homedepot right next to a Walmart superstore! I don't know if you could get much better than this! On one hand you have any building supplies that you could need. And on the other side you have clothing, food, medical, and other health related supplies.

With only a couple of ways into each building maybe it could work when the dead walk the earth? :?
What troubles you more, the fact that I could be right or that you could be wrong?

I'm sure other people will have this idea too.

Where there are lots of people there are lots of non-sationary cadavers not too far behind.

Avoid the populated areas.

Yeah, I'm right next to a wal-mart too, but I would only stop in there to grab some extra stuff before bugging out.

Forget the Wal Mart, the place Im gonna hit is the liquor store down the street. Weird location, One way in the front. Back entrance has lock bar thingie. AND it has lotsa cool stuff, weirdly enough, not alcohol oriented.
They're coming to get you Barbara...

Yea, most of the major department stores like Wal-Mart are going to have a lot of people trying to flee to them.

a lot of people like us are going to have the same idea.

Shelter + Guns + Food + Misc. Supplies + Rollbacks = GREAT FORTRESS!

If I was going to, i'd stick to the most rural Wal-Mart's I could find (NOT HARD here in Mississippi)

A zombie apocalypse=the ultimate Rollback.

If I am in my hometown (vs. DC, Charlottesville or NY) there is a Walmart that would be fine for PAW raiding, though I wouldn't go there during the initial fallout/panic.
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices, to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all its own...

This idea is obvious which is why its so bad. Too many others will do this. Go to the unlikely places. Like an abonded department store thats probably over grown.

If Dawn Of The Dead has taught humanity anything, it's to stay away from a mall during a zombie outbreak. :D

Circuit City, on the other hand, might work. If I were you, Squad, I'd scope out the entire place. Where are all entrances at? Are there giant window openings you can't really barricade? Are there any Pepsi machines that dispense water, and do they have snacks? Does the place carry a large supply of batteries in all sizes? Is there a second floor or access to the rooftop if you need it?

As a last resort, mind you. I'd be working on a way out of the city as my primary bug out plan.
See you around, HK.
