let me know what you think and thank you for the compliment on the new belt. I haven't made one for myself but girlfriend has been wearing hers non stop.

I would go with either my V ring shooters belt or the Cobra Gun belt. The only drawback to the cobra belt is removing the buckle when placing it through your pants loops but other than that the belt should last your for years. I build them to last , and stiff enough to CCW but flexible enough to wear all day. Plus it will hold a radio or shears holster well.

As for the boot question, you see two schools of thought on this, the bulky stiff leather boots and the tactical style boots. I have worn both , the tactical style boots like the bates 924 are very comfy, they last about a year but also only cost a little less than one hundred. They wear like a running shoe. When I worked private EMS I wore them and loved them.

I worked for a fire department now and I wear these but I have been on debating on going back to "tactical " softer boot when we are outside of the grass fire season.
http://www.firefightersafety.com/firefi ... nboot.aspx

These have been getting pretty good reviews.

http://www.511tactical.com/browse/Home/ ... 0500:20505

Most likely your instructor is from the school of thought of wearing heavy boots , like the chippawas which are over priced they look good but if you have to be on your feet all day go for a compromise between safety and comfort, not some silly old school trend of wearing big bulky heavy leather boots. I ended up with semi-permanent damage to the ligaments in my right foot from wearing bulky heavy boots that didn't offer much support. So I also recommend foot bed support, and not the ones from walmart.
http://www.superfeet.com/ work to support and resolve some issues without the expense of custom vacuum molded footbeds, which after my surgery to repair mine, I have to wear everyday.

Find something that has a steel toe and is comfortable, and don't wear your boots home after work. To many blood borne pathogens out there to bring home to your family .

Ok a few questions for ya how much for the cobra belt? (Im a 32" waist usually wear 31" but might gain some lbs lol)
Also the v ring, does that slip at all? I mean do you have to re adjust it every now and then?

Also totally understand about blood borne pathogens

I saw these boots and they looks pretty sick!

Im honestly looking for something safe but very very comfortable.

OK, I know that wasn't directed at me, but I've had some awesome experiences with my Redwing tactical styled boots. I got them for x-mas two years ago, and have worn them everyday since. I am very rough on my boots, and have had to replace Magnums every 6-8 months in the past, heavier boots might last a year for me.

Anyway, after two years of standing up to my abuse the zipper on one finally gave out. I took it back to the Redwing store to find out what it'd cost me to get them fixed, and re-discovered that they have a lifetime warranty. They replaced the zipper, refinished the leather, and installed new laces. ALL FOR FREE!! These have also been the most comfy pair of boots I've had in a while, and I do a lot of walking and climbing. They have a safety toe, are super light, and are available in any width needed (I have wide feet).

My $0.02, YMMV.

The cobras have 4 inches of adjustment so you would be safe if you gained or lost a little. The V ring buckles do not slip, I frequently wear one of mine all day and they never slip, the buckle per mil spec requirements has to hold 2500 lbs, I purchase mine from a US manufacturer and they do a good job of building a clean buckle. They also have 4 inches of adjustment.

The only thing about the Haix is expensive and kind of heavy, one of the other engineers on my shifts wears them, and he comments on them being heavy as well. On your feet the Haix look big and bulky, if you dont mind that then you are safet. I like having a boot I can run in if I had to. When I worked private EMS it wasnt uncommon to be shot at occasionally, but most gangbangers can't really shoot too good. I once had the back of our ambulance hit, small caliber , with very little damage.

Something I would suggest is a decent small flashlight like th fenix LD20, small enough to fit into your pocket and not so expensive that you are afraid to carry it.

I hope that helps

They are the most comfortable boot of that style I've ever worn. I've tried that style with and without the zipper sides, and I prefer the zipper for speed of getting into and out of them. I haven't noticed any problems with the zipper effecting comfort, there is a leather part that keeps it off of your ankle. The only possible thing is when you first set them up, getting the tension right in the laces so that it zips right, but that isn't a problem. Shrapnel has the same boots, and she's just as happy with hers as I've been with mine.

As for the warranty, the quote was "as long as the boot is wearable (ie, reasonably repairable) we'll fix it for free, including re-soling." For roughly $120 it's been worth at least 4 pairs of $90 Magnums. The fact that it was two years before my first problem with them speaks VOLUMES!

The V ring belts are 30.00 plus 5.00 to ship. I would just need you to measure your waist at the level you wear your pants. It usually takes me a couple of days turn around. Once I know the measurements and what color you want, I can send a paypal invoice to you, which will fully detail the transaction. Then you will receive a email from USPS with your delivery confirmation information.

I will be out of the V ring buckles for a couple of more days, but I think they are due to be delivered tomorrow or monday.

Yeah the Haix boots look like moon boots, they are as bulky as my leather structural firefighting boots.

I am sorry to be a pain but I don't think I have ever had a belt fit when the customer had used their pants size.

I appreciate you taking the time to measure.

True. I wear a 32 and actual measurment is 35. That could cause for a pretty tight fit.

I didnt take it that way at all. I wish there was a better way to determine size so I kind of always feel bad to ask so many times.

I built myself a new belt last night and I had to measure myself, I have been dropping inches so I was sure of my waist any longer
I didn't take it bad at all brother.
