Yeah, the angle was chosen for dramatic effect. :o
The two jack stands are just forward of the radius arm chassis mounts.

With all the excitement going on up north, I decided it was time to seasonalize mine and the wifeys Vehicle Bug Out kits.

(Mine) tire chains, 1 full set.
battery booster set
20' tow strap
12' come-along
2x wool blankets
4x sterno fuel cannisters
sterno stove
4x MH meals
2L water
tarp and cord
am/fm/WB radio
flashlight
spare batteries
GMRS radio
maps of AO

(hers) tire chains, 1 set.
battery booster
20; tow strap
3x wool blankets
3x space blankets
tarp and 550 cord
3x polypro caps (beanies)
6x sterno fuel cannisters
sterno stove
12x MH and backpacker pantry meals
6x emergency candles
flashlight
am/fm/WB radio
spare batteries
GMRS radio
maps of AO
deck of cards

Also took a few minutes to check the oil and antifreeze on both vehicles, and tossed a spare quart of oil in the back of each. Changed out the wipers a few months ago, so should be good there.
I have no witty quotes at the moment.

Not precisely the BOV, but my wife's Focus got new sparkplugs today. And I discovered I was right about why it didn't start in the cold and was wimpy as all get out. The spark plugs in it were the wrong model.. visibly shorter than the correct plugs. Granted, now it's running "faster" and with my wife's lead foot, this may not be a good thing.

And no, I'm not the one who put the wrong plugs in. PO or the dealership did. We always thought hard cold starts were due to a crap battery. We replaced that last year, and the mechanics at the dealership told us the plugs were fine when she asked them to check them out during routine oil change/maintenance. Hooray for my natural skepticism finally winning something for a change.

Had to run some things to the dump today and, while I was there, I took the truck over to the commercial side of the landfill and had it weighed... 9,500lbs.

Yesterday, I added a Warn HS9500i winch and RR XHD stubby winch bumper. Have spacers to make up for the lift loss up front; just haven't installed them yet. At some point, I may upgrade the Old Man Emu light duty springs to their heavier duty springs.
Added rock sliders for more protection last month.
Still need better protection for the diffs and evap canister.
Looking into the different roof rack options to supplement the 2-door JKs (small) storage capacity.

Just ordered a new set of chains and tensioners for my dually. The wife's truck has a set that's still in good shape.

Replaced the air filter and fuel filter, test fitted the tire chains, and updated the maps and software on both GPS units.

My list grows with each post I read. This newbie's problem is too many BOV's. My van just got a big PV from CL, with a solar H2O heater coming. Bought a Kawasaki Super Sherpa, knobbies, low gears, and 60+ MPG, for the wife. For the record, great site. Next big project is to pimp the FJ Cruiser, winch, lights, and flame thrower ( Zombie toaster).
