Why would you put 2 CB's in the trailer? 11 meter = CB.

I love the trailer, looks like something I would have done!

One is a Standard 40 channel CB (11 Meter)
Most CB radios sold in the United States have the following features:
Automatic noise limiter or noise blanker: Reduces background noise (such as spark ignition)
CB/WX switch: Selects weather-radio receiver
Automatic gain control (AGC): Adjusts transmitter modulation level
PA: Some transceivers can drive an external speaker and act as a low-power public address system, or "bullhorn".
RF gain: Adjusts the RF amplifier gain of the receiver; used to reduce received background noise, and to reduce "clipping" due to over-amplification of already-strong signals (for example, when the receiver is near the transmitter)
NOR/9/19: Quickly tunes preset channels for calling or emergency use
SWR: Meter used to monitor reflected power caused by mismatched antennas and antenna cables
Volume control

The other is a:

Single Side Band (10 Meter)
The 10-meter band is a portion of the shortwave radio spectrum internationally allocated to amateur radio and amateur satellite use on a primary basis. The band consists of frequencies stretching from 28000 to 29700 kHz
I hope this clears things up.

That almost makes me want to create an E bay account. We'll see how the bidding goes...

Ok... very productive day here, I added a 2x2 reciever hitch to the trailer for a bike rack out back! also added a Machete, a large survival knife in a custom leather sheath and a small camp axe to one of the compartment doors. I then installed a huge Motorola PA Horn and hooked it to the CB radio, it sounds LOUD and clear, I then added a large 3 tier camp table, an easy up canopy, 3 large crates full of food, 5 water jugs, a multi fuel coleman stove and a tool box in the bed, I didn't get to mount the chainsaw today but I did make some home made 3 tier camper levelers from treated 2x8's and added some carry handles to them that I made from a broken tow strap. 8-)
Oh and I also added a set of heavy duty jumper cables and a pair of bolt cutters to the trailer! It's coming along nice and I almost hope no one buys it! :gonk:

Thanks for clearing that up (sarcasm), I know what they are. The auction states that you installed a 40 channel CB radio, but you'll also include an 11-meter SSB radio if the auction meets reserve. That's what confused me. The way it sounds is, the trailer comes with a CB no matter what, but you'll throw in another one.

8-) Happy 4th everyone!
It's been a little slow due to the 4th of july BBQ we are having but I did manage to add a battery storage tray on the inside of the comms compartment door and of course I had to add a few emergency supplies to help with TEOTWAWKI. YEAAAAH Baby!Image

Hmmm I wonder if I should store the liquor in the same cabinet with the flare gun!
Image

Oh and the Vodka and the jaegermeister has been appropreated for the BBQ :awesome:

I have a pressing question.....

Where is the Bourbon and whisky in general? Cant have a booze stock pile without the whisky! :(

That said, Thats pretty damn cool! I like the trailer setup as a whole

And where in the world did the battery tray thing come from? and does it have a current tester to? NEAT! :)

The black part at the top of the battery tray is a door, you lift it up and there is a battery tester inside, as for the whisky, thats kept in the house, the stuff in the trailer is just the surplus alcohol, the stuff I have doubles of!

*WHEW* was worried there for a sec

And that is indeed a handy setup for batteries, and if one were scrounging batteries it would be good to be able to test them, and then keep them sorted....Which that helps with both, simple and sweet.

Ya Know... I don't remember where I got the battery storage rack, you can tell by how dirty it is that it's been laying around the shop for awhile, it's just dust so I need to wipe it off, probably could find one online or maybe Ebay.

It looks like a FILO setup on that battery tray. Is there any method for battery retention (in the rack) while this thing is bumping down the trail so you don't end up with an empty rack and batteries from Hell to breakfast in that compartment?

My idea was to add some rubber straps and some eyelets to keep the batteries from jumping out, I was thinking about a piece of foam between each battery to keep them from slamming against each other. I still have to go to the hardware store and put something together. There's just so much in regular life to take care of that it cuts into my prepper life!

I bided but my bid got beat. Oh well, since the reserve wasn't met does that mean it didn't sell? Have you thought about selling it on here or craigslist?

Nothing I've seen on the forums has made me more jealous than this. I've always wanted a bug out trailer and that one is nicer than I could ever imagine owning myself. You rule.

Where else would you store a flare gun if not with the liquor? Not even a question in my mind.
