Well I agree a "no-obligation meet and greet" is the best next step, what is local to you is not so local to everyone else and we can spend allot of time trying to come up with a when and where.... so perhaps we should try a poll to figure it out and who wants/is able to be the officers since they will have to go to the meetings and as long as we can get the 3 of them working together the members can fall in place when they are able.

I'll see if I'm able to start a poll...

If you guys swing something in DC, let me know. I hate driving/parking in DC, but I don't mind parking in Fredricksburg and taking the metro up into the capitol. Chinatown is always a favorite.

Most excellent. Voted. Thanks for taking the initiative.

Great chatting with everyone (Eric, Flex, Lanarchy) last weekend and sorry I had to sign out early. The missus needed help with the Little Nomad (our son).

So looks like we got the place, so now all we need is a when:

If that weekend does not work for you just post that there, we have to go with a majority thing.

Matt and I met up at Denny's in Gaithersburg on March 6th at 830 am. We had a good chat and share a lot of common interests here at ZS. From the earlier web get-together, I believe we've got a good core group that would mesh well personality and interest-wise. I look forward to meeting more of you in person!

So any of y'all like to fish? I’m going to try and get my license this weekend so I would be up for some fishing in the next few weeks, Ft. small wood in a pretty nice park and has a few gazebo and grills, we could try and use that as a meet up place. Hell we could even possible volunteer for park clean up in the future and get or chapter status rolling also. Just a thought, sorry I couldn’t make it to the Denny’s meeting after setting it up.... at least 2 people went :) I’ll try and not set up something I can't attend in the future.

No worries Jacoby. The important thing is that you tried and some of us met as a result. I've never fished, but have the gear and would like to give it a shot. My gear is SHTF stuff that I've tested out so I could see that I've tied a hook to a line and have cast it... but the whole licensing thing has prevented me from actually trying to catch an actual fish.

My family and I will be at the Epilepsy Foundation's DC 5k Walk on Saturday March 27, 2010... My wife and I will be wearing our ZS shirts and will be there at 830 am and then doing the walk if any of you would like to join in or come by and see all the healthcare bill protesters... I mean, support the EFA's work to find a definitive cure.

Unlike breast cancer, as an example, epilepsy usually doesn't kill because of drugs that allow someone to "live with it". I came down with epilepsy for unknown reasons when I was 26. I don't look it and I might not have any behaviors that suggest it, but it profoundly impacts my life, my view of life, and the lives of those around me. The EFA drives about the only research going on into seizure disorders and is the only group trying to find a cure, rather than an expensive medication regimen.

It has its most profound impact on children, for whom epilepsy is devastating and heart-breaking. The walk starts around 9 am and is situated on the Mall about 0.5 miles in front of the Capital Building. There are no gates. No pre-registration. No bouncers checking for ID. If you'd like to come down, let me know and I'll keep my eye open for you.

Not sure which thread people are watching so I'll post this here too:

I know this is still almost a month away but I was planning on going to the gun show coming up on the weekend of April 24th. If anybody would like to meet up, have lunch (or breakfast) I am more than willing to start getting something organized.

I think the gun show is running Friday afternoon thru Sunday afternoon at the Dulles Expo Center off of route 28.

I won't buy guns, or know really anything about guns, but I'd be down for Saturday :D

I will be out of town on the 24th but could we agree to meet at gun shows? That could give us dates ahead of time so some of us can plan ahead.

I think this is a good idea, I think they normally run every 3 months so it would be a good base timeframe.

I work alt weekends so I will be at shows that I have off. We could expand the meetings later to include camping, shooting, etc.

I'll be at the Dullex gun show on the 24th. A VA gun show is 100x better and more interesting than a MD one. Matt, I'll be at Silver Eagle tonight around 5:30ish for my daughter and nephew to shoot their first time ever. If you're around, come by. We'll have the Sig P226, a Mossberg 500, and a 1988 Egyptian Maadi RPM (AK).

I am planning on meeting murph there (depending on his availability) and if Ericinmaryland is able to make it that's 3. Anybody else in? Would you want to meet at the gun show itself or one of the restaurants next to it? I think there's a burger king or something like that we could meet at. The next big question is time. What would work for everybody?
