Well, it looks like I'll be around Guerneville the second weekend of August. The 9th and 10th to be exact.
Anybody know what's out there besides "Bears"?

Most of the activity in this thread seems to be Socal, but there are a few of us in the Bay area...

We should definitely meet up sometime, if we can coordinate something.

I'm down to try to organize a norcal meeting. Ive never done a ZS event before, what does the site need? Camping and a firing range? Barbecue pits? Swimming/fishing holes? How does a weekend in July sound?

I nominate Cow Mountain outside of Ukiah (all amenities above included)

EDIT: I live in Redwood Valley, just between Ukiah and Willits on the 101.

Well, I don't drive....so for me a meetup has to be within train/bus/biking range (pretty wide range actually) so I can do a Berenger and get off (kicked off?) in a convienent spot. Getting out of S.F. with a longarm will be fun though.

There IS a bus that goes from Frisco to Santa Rosa... and the MTA's CC-Rider goes from Santa Rosa to Ukiah, Willits, and Fort Bragg.

Just put your guns in a duffel bag. Haven't you even seen "Falling Down", with Michael Douglas? :D

There you go. They don't have metal detectors and x-ray machines in public transit....yet.

I was thinking maybe just a meet up and BBQ for a day or so. If it was close, and TedBike3000 could get to BART, I could always pick him up there and drive to somewhere to within a few hours of the Bay Area. Having a family and a job kind of makes it hard to get too far out of town, though.

Maybe camping on the coast would be pretty nice... :)

I think you guys need to start up a Nor Cal meet up thread and retire this one.

There is a difference between Norcal and Socal... a big one. We should start a new NorCal thread and let this one die :)

I'd really like to get something going in the way of a chapter for the southern region as well. I am stationed in San Diego, specifically Point Loma.

Necro-post (appropriate for a living dead forum, eh?) But, in case anyone is subscribed to this, thought I'd reply here rather than start a new one.

But, I'm located next to Lake Oroville in the Sierra Foothills, about 75 miles North of Sacramento. Did some searches and it seems that I am in a dead area though (no pun intended.)

I'm necro-posting this thread!

I'm located in the Inland Empire. Menifee area to be exact.
I'm looking to get a group together from Corona, Riverside, Hemet, and Temecula. And any area in between there... Ideally we could meet off the I-215 exit 9 in the Newport Shopping center. It's super easy access for anyone in these areas, and they have lots of food options, including Starbucks. PM me if you want to get this sub-chapter meeting going, and we can work on making it official!

I might start a new thread in the New Chapter area, and link it back to here...

EDIT: There is a guy trying to coordinate a SoCal chapter here: viewtopic.php?f=106&t=88409&p=1999260#p1999260
And information on a meet here: viewtopic.php?f=106&t=89841
As well as Nacho starting up an LA and surrounding area group: viewtopic.php?f=87&t=86111
And most importantly, here is the place to talk about starting a new chapter: viewtopic.php?f=87&t=88766

I'll be in San Diego starting July for about 3 years or so. Would love to finally be part of a chapter. Not to mention, the presence of more than one Gabriel is automatic win.
