I'm not 100%, having not seen my schedule, but if it's the afternoon of the 18th (around 5 to give me some lead time) and I work day shift that day, I'd love to go :)

18th. Hmmm. I've checked my schedule, and it looks good. A Saturday, even better. I could drive out on Friday night and get all of my stuff prepped, and we'd be good.

Looks like it's August 18th, 2007 in Livermore. I'd like to hear from other people that are planning to attend, especially folks from Livermore who can help with setting this up.

So what do y'all wanna do? Just make noise and put holes in paper? Hiking? Camping? Drinking beer? BBQ?

Just be sure, if you are brining your own guns'n'ammo, that your ammo does not stick to a magnet. The range will not allow it for fear of the rounds bouncing up over the hill into the housing development. The range does sell ammo, but not everything. Last I checked, they don't carry any .303 brit (boo for me).

I'm not sure I understand the whole magnet thing. Making noise and putting holes in paper could be immediately followed by some eating/drinking.

That's the reason.

Sorry you can't make it. I'll be sure to take some pix for you.

So for those who are not from Livermore, and can make it, how long are you planning on staying in the area?

It kinda sounds like we're just gonna shoot 'n eat, not that there's anything wrong with that. If you're up for more, that's cool too. Just let us Liver-morons know so we can set stuff up.

See y'all on the 18th. Don't forget your ZS t-shirts and stuff.

Is someone getting t-shirts for the gathering? Is anyone a good enough artist to get something on cafe press for us to buy for the G2G?

I'd like to come but I get back to the states on the 17th and I'm not feeling a 6 hour drive the night I get off the boat.

So how many of us will there be?

I know of 2...Myself and ZapThyCat.

WHO ELSE?!?!

What do ya'll wanna eat? There's a pretty good pub downtown...good food, good drink.

Here's a yahoo map from the range to the First Stree Ale House.

If you are feeling a little saucy, there is also a Cattleman's in town.

Perhaps you want indian.

Let us know so we can set it up.

I'm waiting patiently for my schedule to come up, but I think I'll be working day shift, so so long as people can wait till I can get there from Santa Clara after 330, that'd be great :)

I should be able to get a couple of good hours in then (depending on when people start/end), should hopefully only take an hour for me to get there from work :), though I'll be riding on the motorcycle, which should make it a little more fun.

What do you ride? If you want, I could take you on the local twisties, Patterson Pass Rd, and Tesla/Corrla Hollow Rd.

Click here for a video I made of that run.

If you are on two wheels, then I could imagine that it would be difficult, and possibly illegal for you to carry a firearm on a motorcycle. I'm sure there will be a few extra boom sticks around.

THERE'S ONE WEEK LEFT!!! WHO ELSE IS IN?

Edit: Duh, I can count. I meant TWO weeks.

I ride a 2000 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100, and sadly, I'm too poor to actually own a firearm at the moment, especially since my car just blew up on me and my motorcycle is my single form of transit at the moment. And technically I could probably carry and pistol on the bike, I've got saddlebags, split the ammo and the weapon, lock them both up. ^.^

EDIT: On a side note, that road looks much like a road I did the other day, look up Sierra Rd in San Jose, you'd probably like that one :)

Looks like I won't be able to attend guys. My Lasik appointment got changed to August 17, with a mandatory follow-up on the 18th. Hope all goes well, and I'll catch the next one and whip some ass on the range with my new peepers.

Well, I'll be there. Heck, I may have a motorbike too.

And I'll have a few extra guns, for whomever can bring ammo for them :-p

Zap...what calibers?

I'm bringing my enfield, so some .303 brit would be nice. (that stuff is pricy)

I'm also bringing my Mossy .22, but I have plenty of ammo for that.

So is it just me, Zap, and Seeker? Anyone else?

I'll probably be bringing some local friends along, (maybe even a girl or two!)

I almost have some good news, but I missed it by three days. I just bought myself a brandy spanking new XD45 5" today. :D Problem is, California has a 10 day waiting period, and our range day is in 7  Anyhoo, I'll still have my enfield and .22lr mossy with which to play. I will be going to the range soon thereafter the required 10 days, you can be sure of that.

So I guess I will see Zap and Seeker in a week. Tentative schedule is shooting from 3-5, carving the twistys from 6-7 (give an hour to get home, store the guns, get ready to ride), and eating/drinking from 7-? How does that sound?

Ricky, when do you think your peepers will be ready to hit the range?

Ditto.

That, but I'm getting work done on my leg. I still ordered T-Shirts...So, I'll mail them...

I dunno whether that was sarcasm or not, but I'll say that again.

I'm getting my leg worked on. I've got a mole or two on my calf that could be cancerous, so they're gonna cut 'em lose and see what happens. I'm also getting my feet examined for new shoe inserts.

Not long. A week or two? Can't say for sure, because I don't really know. As soon as they're ready I'll head up there to help you shoot your XD45. Maybe we can make these range days a regular thing so Kedyw and I can catch the next one. Hopefully we won't have to wait another 6 months.

As soon as I'm up north, I'll be good. I won't have a car, and keeping a gun in the dorm is completely out of the question. However, I'll be free Labor Day weekend.

Yeah, I guess sarcasm doesn't come through the screen that well. Anyways, best of luck with your surgery. I truely hope you don't have the "Big Casino"

[sarcasm]I dunno if I like the surrounding ZS members. They all have bad eyes, legs, feet, who know what else! Not good for an zombie assult team.[/sarcasm]

Since the only other full size caliber gun I have is the enfield ($1.25 a round), my shooting costs will go down with the .45. In addition to that, I have a friend who is set up to reload .45s I plan on becoming a member at the range, which will also reduce my costs. You can expect to see me at the range much more often in T-8 days and counting. Any of you guys are more than welcome to join me there.

Perhaps we should plan on a Sept first G2G shoot-n-eat.
