I fear that most of us will look less like Mall ninjas and more like Basement dwelling losers... But what the hell.. Here's me... No gun yet. But I hear through a very well armed grapevine that come june or july Canadians won't be required to register long arms. So if I end up not going to school in NYC then I'll be able to get one and my licence for that matter. So I can get handguns too.
I have a backpack as well But that's less combat, more bugging out. It has my food, pots, stove, extra clothes, etc in it.
The gas mask is mainly for facial covering. I have a filter for it but frankly I think I'm just going to give up and jump in a swamp if the strain is airborne.
Considering taking the regulator out completely so there's less restriction of airflow and worry about needing a functioning gas mask later.
The helmet I could lose. It's heavy.
The headgear could easily be switched with a fatigue cap and bolle t-800s
I'm looking at a blackhawk MOLLE chest rig rather than my ramshackal Mad Max gear. It contains things like:
Energy bars
Lighters
Small first aid kit
Compass
LED Lantern
Paracord
a few little knives
Whistle
Batteries.
Clip flashlight.
The belt contains more basic wilderness survival stuff and is also the last thing I drop should the zombies be grabbing onto me.
Kershaw survival knife
Bushman
More lighters
Hockey tape
Binoculars
Canteen.
Film can fishing kit.
I want a more low profile way of storing the things in my shoulder bag.
Shake flashlight
metal rasp
Pry bar
Spiderwire and needles.
Leather awl
In a shoulder bag of it's own I have an emergency crank radio.
I have more knives on my person that I could ever possibly need. Which is just how I like it.
Behold my answer to the Tool/weapon arguement...
