I'm going to go pick up a bunch of coconuts, and coconut test anything you tell me to. Within reason, of course. Nothing too expensive, hopefully something I own, but I need ideas. I shall post pics and movies!

Cinder Blocks, both the 4"x8"x16" as well as the 8"x8"x16" varieties. Throw some common bricks as well and that should keep you busy for a while.

Rocks.

Start with small rocks and work your way up to determine the mass you will need with your strength to bust up on some undead cranium.

Stomping, bricks, lead pipes, steak knives, 2x4, a pen, a club with nails in it, skateboard, full pop can (unopened), table leg, metal folding chair, tire iron....

The funny thing is, I'll probably come up with more before bed tonight.

Yeah, I wouldn't really suggest pistol whipping a coconut, certainly not with my pistol. But, if you could get an all-metal replica with a realistic weight to it, or maybe one of those "Blue Guns," or even a metal BB gun, it'd probably be a valid test, and cost less when it breaks.

I'd pay money to see this one :)

On a more serious note, would you be able to test a pool cue?? And if you happen to have an ASP check that to.

All BS aside, this is a great idea. I've looked for coconuts in my local grocery and can only find the "easy open" scored variety.

ASP batton is a good idea, as would be similar weapons. Also, has anyone done the lowly claw hammer?

And if you've got a kukri available...

shovel (not the sharp sides and the sharp sides)

Boots, shoes, and barefoot stomp!

tire iron, golf club, hockey stick, canes of different varieties, chairs of diiferent varieties, rolling pins, bowling ball, weights, poker, full bottles and cans, hoe,

baseball - how fast would one have to throw a baseball to meet or exceed the 1400 psi needed to break the human skull?

If I remember correctly, a heel stomp was supposed to be administered to either the temple or the bone around the ears (has the least thickness of any region), so theoretically everyone's favorite HtH end move wouldn't need 1400 psi to crack the cabeza. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

The health food store has full-husk ones.

Alrighty, looks like I've got enough to last me a few days. I'll try some of these, keep suggesting them, I'll do more later. Now I've just gotta go get the coconuts...

I would love to see what my Cold Steel WarHammer and Mace would do to a coconut! I might have to buy a couple and have a friend stand by to take piccs.

bgaesop, how about a 20 oz framing hammer? The claw end!

Synfyre, do you mean a "dead blow " hammer? These are the type that are filled with shot so the hit hard and do not bounce.

I will have to try one of those on a coconut. I own three, ranging from 1lb to 3lb.

Yeah, I don't own one of those, so if someone else wants to get it, that'd be awesome. I'll stick to things which don't require me to buy anything new beyond the coconuts.
