hey a zoo actually might be a good fortress in a zombie PAW. Lots of steel and beasties to guard the area. on the other hand it could suck major. What do you guys think?

lots of steel to prevent escape, many small venomous animals that can escape esily, huge angry hungry animals that like people burgers, territorial rhinos... i'm seeing an amusing horror movie, not a good PAW fort.

Recently, a horde of 200 stray dogs overran a town in Albania and began attacking villagers.

that is one of the strangest things i have ever heard, and i will definatly need to remember that the next time i talk to an animal rights nut

Feral dogs are something of a problem in some rual regions of the US. People suddenly decide "Fluffy" is to much trouble or whatever and take him off to the woods and leave him there. The problem is, that dogs are pack animals and with out humans, they tend to revert to instincual behavior like their ancestors. Add to this their lack of fear regarding humans and you can have a VERY serious problem. Even dogs let loose to roam in urban environments can form packs and cause a problem. This story really doesn't suprise me to much, what does is the number of dogs in this pack. Sounds like several packs that "joined forces" for this raid.

From the link: "People threw stones to break up the pack. Police and hunters killed 20 dogs, including the leader."

The problem is obviously not too many dogs, its simply too few firearms. They threw rocks...

Might be a good idea to learn how to tame wild dogs. Seperate a few, teach them who's boss, they could be a valuable addition to your team. I don't know the specifics of running a dog sled team, but that's basically a pack with a human as alpha male, isn't it? Also, I don't know how being your pack's alpha male helps or hurts interaction with another pack.

Seems to me that a couple people with big trucks could have had a field day.
