Got a new xs scout mount for my stainless marlin 1894c yesterday. Was going to put my other fullsize aimpoint on it but it looked goofy. I think a silver micro will look just perfect on that scout mount. Pics as soon as i get it and figure out how to post pics.

I just picked up an 1895GS, the XS base is inbound as I type and I'm thinking about this optic for the rifle.... think it'll hold up to 400 grain 45/70? I know I shouldn't debate it too long as I'm sure they're down to the bottom of the barrel on this deal right now...

Dude. I think anyone with a stainless levergun is basically OBLIGATED to do this thing. Oh, and they're discontinuing the silver ones, so act fast.

May need to paint the xs scout mount silver. Guess I'll wait to see what it looks like. Thanks to the OP for posting this. Seriously.

Okay, I figured "screw it" and pulled the trigger on one.

The destination? My S&W 617 (.22LR revolver); the finish on the R1 should be a great match for the stainless steel on the revolver.

I've been wanting to put a red-dot on this for awhile, and this is much more than a Fastfire or other lesser "micro red-dot".

If it makes you feel better, the R-1 was made for revolver hunters with fancy stainless revolvers. So you bought the right tool for your revolver.... gear snob. :P

So now you can drop your revolver on concrete, optic first, and scoff at the guys too scared to scratch their LSU purple-and-yellow laminate grips.

Is that about right? I'm still getting the gear snob thing down.

Btw, I thought about it for about 7 seconds after posting a few posts back and ordered it. Soon to be a marlin 1895gs with the XS sights, rail, and R-1 lol. Now if they'd only have this sale with the H-1, I'd have something to put on my Ultimak rail

Damn, not gonna be able to do this at all this check. Had my fingers crossed, but rent, insurance, vet, and internet bills obliterated it lol. Oh well, all the more reason to save for the H-1 for the AK.

Really, with that setup it could be pink and you'd still be a ballin'-ass muthafucka.

You know, for a mall ninja.

So that mounted in front of the ACOG hmmm, damn it, i might have to jump on this. I mean, fuck it is cheaper. And the money I'd save wouldn't set me back too far from an ACOG or I could just spend the rest on a PPSH41.....damn it! :x
ETA: Ok so is there a QD mount for this thing?

The only QD you should EVER buy is a LaRue Tactical mount.
There are a couple types from LT. Low , med , high.

I'll post what it looks like from behind with irons.

EDIT:
OK - here it is... I think the one on the left is LT751 - I have both mounts.

Should work with any Aimpoint Micro.

Ha. You almost had me shaking like a crackhead to put another one on my beautiful little flower of a Mitchell High Standard .22 pistol (in stainless with gold accents of course), but I got to thinking that it would be a waste. I can't justify a genuine Aimpoint Micro on a cherished plinker .22 LR. If the gun you're putting it on isn't something you'd take into a firefight, or even would drop on cement to prove a point (like Focker mentioned), then WTF would I be putting a sight on it that can handle that?

That's overkill even I can't justify. Does anyone know if the Primary Arms knockoff is paralax-free? This sight was made for shiny and very boomy revolvers. I think I saw a favorable review of it from someone that put it on his S&W 500 or something.

Hell I already ended up with two AIM sights for Christmas (a red dot and a 3X ACOG-esque thing) that I need to figure out what to do with, and I think Rimfire will be their new homes.

Still wish I could get another though. Put one on my Sig 556, one on my AMD 65 on an Ultimak. Or one on my "No Compromises (other than the shitty AGP "ZS" lower it's based off of)" AR build.

ETA: They still have them in stock as of this post. That's longer than I thought. They'd better sell out soon before I do something stupider.

Got my shipping notice... I'm not sure if this is going on my 1894s, or my 22/45. Either way, thanks for the heads up!

Unless I'm confused by the lack of sleep, IIRC a High Standard is one HELL of a "plinker .22LR pistol". I'd do it if I owned one, but then again evidently I'm a gear snob

Oh, and if you're going to drop your gun or otherwise run it hard (or just want the peace of mind), I highly suggest the LaRue QD mount for your Aimpoint. The most rugged optic in the world isnt going to help diddly-shit if the mount breaks.

Shit, I'm broke and even I am thinking: well, I could sell 20 NIW windowed PMags and it'd be a net wash! PS: anyone interested?

SCORE! I have received my shipping notice!

I was worried I was going to get shorted since everyone and their mother has ordered one.

I may just powder coat it, it's an Aimpoint, it can can take it.

Thanks for the heads up Lee!

Seriously Lucas, how many porn subscriptions does one man need?

On a serious note Midway did not send me a shipping notice when I ordered late Tuesday night. I did go into my account on the Midway site to review order history and the tracking number was there.

Me hopes that is correct... I ordered at like 10ish last night.

I also didn't get a tracking number emailed to me yet, but when I went into my Acct. on Midways site there's already a tracking number set up for it... I'm assuming it hasn't shipped yet though since it's still only a few hours into their business day so far.
