I carry a manbag/murse with me every day, it is a Blackhawk BattleBag(DiamondBack Tactical also makes a version). Has a ton of EDC gear in it, everything from QuickClot to a hazmat approved face mask. It even has a velcro spot inside for a holster and a couple mags(which is where my G26 normally lives). Every once and a while someone will make a comment like "Dude how much crap do you carry with you on a regular basis?" but I dont think I have ever had someone actually make fun of me for having it. Though the fact that I am 6'4 and have a bunch of tattoos helps with that. Seriously though, I recommend a EDC bag of some type to anyone who is serious about their disaster/shtf preps. Been thinking about moving to a Diamondback Tactical Messenger Bag for a more civilian looking bag but I until I get my lazy ass over to Diamonback's showroom to see it in person, I dont know if it will suit all my needs.

Questions, Comments, and Criticisms always welcomed.

You EDC 18 chewable Imodium? A man after my own heart.

Are your zip ties all the same size? I've got 4", 6" and a couple 12" ones.

Safety pins? They have almost as many uses as zip ties.

I really dont want to die "ass first" in the PAW.

Nope, I have a pretty good assortment from the smaller 4in ones to full sized flex cuffs.

The cravats come with a safety pin.

You EDC 4 cravats? WTF, I don't even carry 4 triangulair bandages in my FAK's, let alone EDC

Seriously, you could lose 3 cravats, a QC and 2 kerlix rolls (replace with primed)

God, my EDC/FAK sucks. Looks pretty good to me. Minus some differences in the FAK and Maps, it's the same as my current set up but with out the clothes and redudancy found in mine. I'd personally stow the GPS in the BOB, but it does have the radio option so I have mixed feelings about that.

God, I really have to update my EDC/IFAK.

I chose I like it but it needs improvement.. Not that I'm the expert.. nowheres close. One thing I noticed is the fact that you listed CR123's but are carrying a maglight..

I'd dump whatever uses the 123's and carry spare aa's or AAA's depending on which flashlight you have. i dumped all my surefire and started carrying a coast light and a streamlight microstream. They both use AAA's so the batteries are compatible and able to be picked up from anywhere.

just my .02

It's cool and all, but you're still a 6'4" Itallian with a purse.

This is close to what I carry in my truck but not on my person. Being new to this I would suggest some channel locks and a Klein 10 n 1 screwdriver. I work in maintenance and when going on a service call this is all I take with me, wether it is for a door or an A/C.
AND
I am still a huge believer in electrical tape. That stuff works under water, can be used as a clamp, makes a great bandage, one person tourniquet, connecting wires...

You carry a pocket constitution but not a copy of your state laws? I'd swap that around for practical reasons, despite that I personally applaud you for knowing how to spell constitution, much less carry a copy daily. :D Sadly all too rare today.

Thats not a manpurse, thats a friggen BOB.

Personally, way too much gear in my opinion, but thats just me. I like my EDC/E&E light and fast. I would say ditch the 3600cal of rations for a couple Clif bars. Lose two or three Kerlix, an Izzy, 3 Cravs, maybe one of the QCs, and the SAM. Add in some actual hydro, more fire, more of a tool kit, and triple up on duct tape, and match that over again in Gorilla tape. Socks, some large bandannas, and a few contractor's trash bags.

Just me. Roll with what you feel is comfortable to you.

Nice - replace the maps with NYS maps and send me the bag.
Made me think about stuff i am missing in mine - Love this web site.

If it were pink no one in NYC would notice it - black is too tactical here.

Sorry about the delay in answering, spent most of the weekend getting to know my new RPK I picked up at the gunshow in Saturday.

The light I keep with me in my pocket is a Surefire E2D. That is what the bulb and batteries are for. I did however double check and I do have a little 4 pack of Lithium AA's in the bag as well for the LED MiniMag.

I carry a Leatherman Wave on my belt.

I keep 2 cases of water in the truck and I always have a gallon on my desk at work. I live in the desert, I got the water issue covered. :)

I like the state laws idea, I have the full size books on the shelf at my apt but I need to find a pocket guide and add it to the bag(or at the very least put on in the truck).

I only give him hell when he's at least 3 states away.

He's big, but he's fast and he hurts.

Damn right, then again you are no angel either. Remember when you kept trying to set Loki's leg hair on fire?

How do you make a sling/swath with only one cravat ? It's not like they weigh that much.

Yeah..but for just EDC, 4 cravats is a bit much...Especially if he's got a SAM-splint as well.

As much as I wish a man-purse like yours was cool, it's just one of those things that will never happen. I prefer a backpack anyway.

That being said, very nice GHB you have there. I agree with some of the others about your FAK and your seven 3600 calorie rations. For EDC, what you have seems a bit excessive. Maybe keep 1 of your rations and throw in a few Cliff bars?

How about some cash, and maybe a roll of quarters?

I would say a third of the men I work with daily carry either a Laptop bag or a Messenger Bag/Briefcase. I dont even get a second look from people I work with unless they are stopping to ask me where I got the "Trunk Monkey" patch on it from.

Seven Oceans is the name of the company. In my bag there is only one ration Pack totalling 3600 calories total.

Ahhh... Gotcha!
Haha, must have misread that. Just 1 ration makes a lot more sense.

Just curious, if the SHTF while you were at work and the only way for you to make it back home is on foot, how long would that take you?

In my case, it changes all the time. One of my store's is as close as 10 miles from my house. Others are more than 30 miles away. So because there is a chance that I could get stuck spending a night (maybe even two) outside while I was trying to make it home, I pack a small, cheap pancho and emergency shelter in my GHB.

Also, if you're thinking about getting a different bag for EDC you might want to check out an Outdoor Products' lap top bag. I just picked one up at REI for $40.00 on sale for my EDC/GHB. I'm working on getting pics together so I can post my own EDC/GHB thread, but so far I am very happy with this bag.
