Has anyone any experience with a new add on rail for 1911's by recover tactical?

No experience here. I'm sure if it is comfortable in the hand, and you really want to mount a rail on a 1911 it has it's practical benefits. However I think it is fugly, and that's coming from someone that owns an XDM which this thing kind of resembles. I wonder how it would effect manipulation of the magazine and slide release. I'd have to feel one in hand to see.

Have fun finding a holster for it.
Why must all the hoops be on fire?

I might just pick one up.

Right now I carry a stainless 1911 with wood grips when hiking/camping. I think pulling off the wood grips and using these when I go out would help keep the wood grips looking good and provide a rail for a light when I'm checking out that "bump in the night" around camp.

As far as holsters, I have several "universal" holsters that it should fit in. If not, Recover has links to holsters that for on its site. This would not be for CCW purposes.

If I decide to pick one up, I'll do a review.
