To make this short and sweet, I have an opportunity to buy a barely used FNH FNS-40 for 450 bucks. Is this a fair price? The gun is in like-new condition and comes with a tac-light/laser sight for the rail and three 14 rnd mags.

Any reviews for this model? Pros? Cons?

No review here, but from what I've seen in my area, that's a good price.

That's a pretty good price. I'd just hold off until a good deal in 9 or 45 came along. If you like 40, then I'd go for it

New they go for $600+

I'd go for it in a heartbeat at that price, especially if it's the no safety version.

I don't know a lot about the gun but that's a good price. The only FN pistol I've owned (aside from Browning Hi-Powers) was an FNP45 Tactical, and it was a great shooter.

Well, let him put Tylenol Gel-Caps in his shitter all day long. As for me, I'll use as directed. :)

I own the FNS and FNX-9. Excellent pistols and you won't have any issues with them. It's a FN after all. That price is excellent since it includes the light/laser as well.

The only real down side to them in accessories. CDNN has the best prices on mags lately when they have them. The FNX and FNS mags are not interchangable :?

For holsters you have to shop around a little.

Buy it!

I bought the gun last week.

I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet, but My initial impressions are very favorable.

Tac light/laser deal is nifty, but I'm going to sell it and replace it with just a flashlight.

So I didn't get to do a range report. It looks like I won't get the chance, either. It was stolen. I turned it over to the police and told them everything I knew about the gun and the seller. I'm pissed. At least the thief got caught, the rightful owner will get his gun back, and I'm not getting charged with receiving stolen property.

Sounds like an interesting story. Do you mind telling it?

Sure. The legal stuff is behind me so I can talk about it.

I bought this gun from a trusted friend. He bought it from a Gun n' Pawn we both frequent. From what I'm told, the original owner's son-in-law and daughter swiped his guns and sold them to feed their drug habits, and some of them ended up at the Gun n' Pawn a few months afterward. The GnP owner called my bud when he found out, and LEOs called me the next day. I turned everything in to the sheriff and told him everything I knew about it. The LEOs did their thing and arrested the rogue and his wife. Since we cooperated and I turned in the gun, my friends and I didn't get charged with Receiving. The Rogue and wife plead out, and LEOs gave the original owner back all the guns they'd recovered.

Since you were the last one who had the gun I assume you got stuck short $450 then?
