Los Angeles...

Post on Calguns looking for the lowest priced FFL transfer in LA. I know there are some lower ones down in Orange county, but there is bound to be somebody within driving distance of you that is just as cheap. And for the rest of you, yes, California sucks. We have had no adult supervivion of the state government in decades. So we end up with taxes and fees out the yin-yang. And we have fewer FFLs because the state has made it as difficult as possible to have them. Hence all the high costs of doing out of state transfers. On the other hand, we have had weather in the low 70s to mid 80s for the past few weeks. The closest thing I have seen to snow lately is in the ice cube tray in the freezer.

I had sent a couple of questions to QD through their website but I didn't get a reply so I wasn't sure if they were received.
Where is the location of the common items that can get lasered into the back side of the receiver?

If we decide to get the ZS on both sides is it milled on both sides or only milled on one side and lasered on the back?

I am interested in getting built lower can that come with a A2 stock to help me comply with NJ firearms regulations? Is that an issue?

If I was to also order an upper with you folks would it be possible to get one with a non-threaded barrel to also comply with the NJ laws?
Thanks Apoc

This is the exact question I PM'ed them about, and didn't get an answer on. I asked it a few times in these threads and never got an answer. I don't want it lasered on like a white logo on the right side, I want both sides milled identically. They haven't answered that question yet, and it's the only question I have hanging my *buy it now* clicking finger up.

I believe to keep the costs down, the milling will only be on one side. Laser logo or whatever else you want on the other side, that you will coordinate with them. As for getting the A2 stock and non-threaded barrel, do you need to have those on the lower reciever when it comes into the state? Or do you have to have them when you build it? I normally just get those kinds of things from Midway.

I already ordered the lowers paying the extra for the laser on the right sides and sent them a question about how to get them the image I wanted and they havent responded to me either...kinda pissed since its been well over a week. This zs buy is throwing quite a bit of cash to qd so u think they would be a little better about responding to emails.

I thought they said they were adding a new machine and some other stuff this month, and would be busy with that for a bit. But I agree, this is a chunk of change being sent their way. A bit more responsiveness would be nice.

You guys would have never made it back in the 80s when you might have to wait weeks to hear back whether or not Action Arms had the rifle you wanted.

I'll order one as soon as funds allow. I need to pick up my FS2000 off layaway first. :gonk:

Well NJ has some messed up laws as I understand them. For the lower I was thinking that I would buy the complete built lower from QD for the price they quoted of + $120, but in NJ if you don't have a solid stock (Folder or Collapsible) you have to get it pinned before you take possession of it as it will make your firearm "evil". So to avoid that I thought I would see if they could switch it out with an A2.

As for the barrel in NJ you are not allowed to have a flash suppresser or a threaded barrel however a compensator is fine, (As long as it is pinned/welded in place). However, I'm not a big fan of compensators and so I was looking for a smooth barrel. Not sure if QD offers something like that. If so then I was considering ordering the upper from them also at the same time.

Again I'm no expert on NJ laws but this is my understanding of them. Thanks for the thought on Midway I may just go that route.

Is this still available? If so, put me down for one (1) in GunMetal. Thank you!

Very interested in doing this. I took a look at their website but couldn't find anywhere that had some color samples for the lowers. Anyone find a link to something like that on their site? Also, is there a cutoff date for ordering?

Yes, it is still available. Contact QD directly through their website and you can make your purchase there.

As for Midway, look at some of their DPMS uppers. They normally carry a complete one with a 16" bull barrel in the $380 range. I picked one of those up several years back, and have been happy with it. It has no muzzle attachment or threads, fo you should be fine.

P.S. here is a link. It looks like they are on back order right now, but they are also $25 off.

Anyone tried OD with FDE furniture? I don't think I want a normal EBR, but just can't picture it in my head.

Just skimmed over the thread again, and I see that more than a few people want ZS on both sides, like a buddy of mine who's basically a lurker here but wanted to order one.

Did we ever confirm that the markings on the "other" side of the receiver will not be the nice engraving, but rather the laser etching that was described to me a while back?

For me it's okay, since I'm getting writing and a barcode on mine, but my buddy changed his mind about having ZS on both sides when he realized that it wouldn't be engraved. Other folks might be under the same misconception...

...on the other hand, I may be mistaken myself, in which case I'll shut up now...

FINALLY placed my order... just for one, alas. In an effort to better serve their customers, my part-time job eliminated all part-time positions. thereby ensuring worse customer service since we could barely keep up as it was... so, I don't have an extra income stream for my fun projects anymore until I can find something else...

My understanding is that the "first" side will be engraved, the "other" side will be laser etched.

In for one in OD as long as they can hold it for me until I return to the US later this summer. Happy to pre-pay like I did w/the UCWRG lowers.

ZS logo on both sides.

Does anyone know if they're allowing us to select specific serial # s from within the run?
