Hi. I'm looking to barter my two katanas.

Both retail for about $875-$1,000 a piece.

These are Paul Chen, handmade, battle-ready, razor sharp, full tang katanas. The REAL DEAL. These are made to be USED, not be displayed. They are battle-ready.

I'm looking to sell or barter for home protection devices, AR-15, or similar. Any kind of protection. Please e-mail me if interested.

Somebody is growing up.

Haha
With katanas that awesome, who needs an AR?

A concise way of saying "real weapon (not a POS wall hanger that will shatter on impact), sharp", I guess.

A concise way of giving Katana Noobs the impression that they have a real weapon, not a POS, whether or not that is the case.

This means it is magically imbued with the spirit of it's maker, often a seventy year old japanese samurai.

And it can cut through a tank!

unintentionally baited my roommate into the classic "10mm? thats only one mm bigger then 9mm, how does that make a difference?" I believe this makes his third appearance on this thread... but the good news I finally convinced him to buy buck-shot and a side saddle for his 4-shot shotgun, since he previously stuck to the (possibly not untrue) philosophy that 4 rounds of birdshot was plenty to send anybody running/to the hospital.

The disgruntled father who shot his kids laptop for the facebook post - that went viral - "this is my .45 and these are exploading hollow point rounds that you have to pay me back for.
I know this subject has been covered before, but this is something every dimwit will now see.

A friend of mine was telling me about his trip to local sporting warehouse where he was looking for a AR style rifle. He was pricing out P22s as well and asked the clerk about the extra $200 2 inch extender and what it was for. He was saying the clerk told him it was for extra accuracy while competition shooting. My buddy has shot competition for years so he looked at him and asked him what kind of competition shooting he was talking about, the reply was "oh around 75 to 100 yards"
I hear what you're saying - I just don't respect you enough to give a fuck about your opinion

A 70y/o samurai must indeed be magical if he time travelled from the Edo period.

Some dude at a pawn shop just told me that you only need a special license to own as many machine guns/pistols as you want. When I told him that wasn't the case, he said that's how it was back when he had a license.

He also said he found a full auto Uzi for 1475 with 30 mags and 2k of ammo. He couldn't buy it, of course, because his full auto license had expired.

I believe he was bullshiting however, it's true, if you have a SOT or a manufacturer*, you can have as many MGs as you want. I'm not sure but I believe the cost of this license is $1500 a year.

*I'm clueless on this process however I know some folks that make all the MGs and cans they want with this license. They just can't sell the MGs to anyone. The suppressors can be sold.

That's what I thought at first (FFL) but then he mentioned the 200 dollar stamp fee.

I should have asked him for a link or website. Oh well

Yeah, the manufacturer is exempt from the $200 tax, I believe.

If "The safety is on" or "My finger isn't on the trigger", or that most lethal of statements "It's not even loaded" is believed to be true, a surprising preponderance of non-gun people think the weapon is rendered completely harmless and can be treated with the same reverence one grants to chewing gum.

Hoping he is, I would still assume a shotgun going off that close to your face would be far from beneficial.

----------------------------------------------------------
Speaking of dumber things I've heard, it would be when someone told me they could buy a Thompson sub-machinegun for $2,000. This was six days ago, so no -- it wasn't back in the 1920s when they ran a couple hundred a piece. I asked them, "Oh, you mean one of those semi-autos that Auto Ordnance makes?"
"No, it's a commemorative."
I asked if they meant it was deactivated. Of course it wasn't! So I asked how this guy even managed to get one that he was going to buy it off of. Apparently, the guy is the only one around who can get them because he's military. What the heck..?
"So, you're telling me this is a legit Thompson sub-machine gun, engraved and everything, fully-automatic, for $2,000?"
"Yeah."
"The last time I saw a transferable Thompson for sale, it was like $25,000 and I don't even know if I'm remember correctly. It could've been more than that."
"Well, this one is just $2,000."
"You do know you'd have to register them, right?"
"No I wouldn't, it'd be a private sale."
Cue an, "Dear sweet baby Moses riding in a motorcycle sidecar..." from myself, and I more or less just said, "Well, have fun with it if you get it."

I don't really didn't even know what to say to them. There was just no hope. He's just one of those guys that you can never correct. Just because you're related to them doesn't mean you're not trying to screw them over or keep them out of prison. Nope. Always trying to keep 'em down. Always. Just like when I tried to convince them the barrel shroud (that thing that goes up) on their MAC-11 was, in fact, not a suppressor.
