Hornady Z-Max Ammunition

Postby neoexodus » Wed Sep 28, 2011 7:32 am

A buddy of mine sent me this link overnight, and I felt compelled to share it: http://www.theammosource.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1122

Looks like Hornady is the first major ammunition manufacturer jumping on the Zed Defense bandwagon. Seems a bit ridiculous to me (I would have expected sealed battle packs at least), but without anything to go on other than the pre-sale information and packaging, who knows?

It's Hornady and novelty; I'm surprised it's less than $1/round

I'll probably buy a box for novelty. No revolver, or shotgun ammo is hard fail though.

Zombie ammo is important to keep stocked.

You never know when you might need it.

As long as you don't live in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave...

Ammunition, powder and primers can not be ship to the USA due to import/export regulations.

New Hornady Zombie Ammo Revealed

Does your BOB at least have: water, basic tools, fire, food, first-aid kit, and shelter?

http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/p ... 0Sheet.pdf

The pdf link kinda introduces it better. With a disclaimer.

Disclaimer: Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION),
but is intended only to be used on…ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc.
No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady®
Zombie Max™ ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is for
use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that’s not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to
anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean…ZOMBIES

So the manufacturer says to not shoot it at humans, plants, animals, vegetables, or minerals. So the manufacturer is saying that you should not shoot this ammunition, even at the range.

They know I'm going to buy at least one box in .308 Win. That being said, who isn't going to buy at least one box? 8-)

Me... The ammo I buy now will do just fine against zombies.

That's pretty cool. I am going to pick-up a few boxes just for the novelty/collector aspect of it.

Are their A-Max bullets no good? Expound on the "ugh" for me pl0x :)

OT: I'd really like to see someone like brassfetcher or tnoutdoors9 do some gel tests on this stuff. I bet it's effective and a good talking point. I kind of like the green poly tip too :D
