I'd like to see someone come out with a Shockwave style double barrel shotgun.

Maybe we'll see that at SHOT Show next year.
Why just a double, when you can have a triple. :awesome:

That's actually kind of neat.

I knew about the Chiappa Triple Threat, but I didn't know about the Hondo.

I can attest to the damage that water used to put out a fire will do. My gun shop was burned in 2015. The fire investigator locked me out of the property for 8 days. Everything sat in a semi sealed wet environment that whole time. The damage was horrendous.

Recently picked up an Olight BALDR Pro, same basic format as the Streamlight TLR-2. Green laser, LED flashlight with two selectable power levels, QD mount so easy to remove/replace. It appears to be rock solid but lacks the option of adding a remote pressure switch like the Streamlight. The specifications for the flashlight are a bit deceptive. They state 1350 lumens on high, but if you read the manual that's with fresh batteries (CR123A x 2) and lasts for a whopping 30 seconds, then it drops to about 500 lumens. Low power setting is 300 and is plenty bright for my needs.

$150, sometimes a bit less. I give it two thumbs up.

TTAG - Ruger Unveils the New Ruger-57 Pistol Chambered in 5.7x28mm

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. is thrilled to introduce a cutting-edge new platform – the Ruger-57™ pistol. The Ruger-57 is a full-featured handgun wrapped around a standard capacity, 20-round steel magazine, chambered in the high performance and low-recoiling 5.7x28mm caliber.

TFB Review: Meet the New Ruger-57 5.7x28mm Pistol

I never thought in my day that I’d ever see another pistol chambered in 5.7x28mm. Starting its life early in the 90s as the caliber used in both the FN P90 and its close companion the FN Five-seveN, the caliber has since gone almost nowhere only being used in a handful of firearms over the years – mostly rifles. Ruger aims to change that today with the release of their new Ruger-57 pistol chambered in the high-speed miniature 5.7x28mm cartridge.

So basically Ruger took their American pistol and chambered it in 5.7x28mm?

I bet the next thing they do is make something like a 10/22 in 5.7x28mm or maybe one of their American bolt actions.

Now that I think of it, has anyone ever made a bolt action in 5.7x28mm?

Well. I want to like this. I doubt I'll own one. But I hope they have success and I hope they find a place in the market for this.

I really want a PDW rifle in this. Or a pistol with brace. That's what I really want. Something like the CMR, but not rimfire. And cheaper ammo. Is that too much to ask?

22 TCM could work for my desires too.

Neat.

So it looks like the rail is a bit longer on the 57 and the grip is one piece instead of the interchangeable back straps like on the American.

Kinda hard to shoehorn a 5.7x28 cartridge into the frame of a pistol designed for 9mm....or even .45 acp/10mm.

Eight bills is kinda in my range......I'm pretty sure there are other things I should do first. Still the -57 & a PPC to go with it would be cool.

I think I might be more interested in the Ruger-57 if they made a PCC barrel to support it.

Unless it's too long to fit the existing mag well of Ruger's PCC?

Now I wonder if anyone has tried to make a revolver chambered in 5.7x28mm yet.

I think I may have asked that same question years ago, now that I think of it.

Looking at the photo of the relative cartridge sizes and looking at the magwell inserts for my PC9 I think there's a slight chance it could be done but I'd need to see a mag from a 57 to say for sure.

TFB - The Return Of The New Colt Python 2020

It’s finally back – the new Colt Python will make its debut in 2020. The return of one of the ultimate American wheelguns has been eagerly anticipated since the re-release of the Colt snake series began a few years ago.

With production spanning nearly half a century and ending in 1999, the original Python is a highly sought after piece by collectors. This new revolver boasts modern alloys, a stronger frame and redesigned sights. Still, the new model Python has big shoes to fill – revolver lovers rave over the original’s perfect trigger and awesome accuracy. And while purists will never be able to accept a comparison with the original classic, Colt’s recent track record with new snake guns has been very positive.

It's actually very similar to the Security-9 as far as I've seen.

It's an internal hammer with the same frame ergos and design.

I didn't even think about the Security-9, to be honest.

Now that you mention it, the Ruger 57 does look pretty similar to the Security-9 more than it does the American pistols.

I had a friend over today and showed him this discussion of the Ruger 57. He then drew his carry weapon, cleared it and showed me... he'd just bought a Security 9 two days ago. Now he was to trade it in on a Ruger 57. Oh, and yes, we compared it and the two are very similar.

Well, this year's crop of Hoover hogs at the OShea Armadillo Ranch & Coyote Preserve has been plentiful....both in numbers and size.

I've culled six of the bastards in the last two weeks: two in my yard, two in Mom's yard, one on the empty lot between us, and one just a few minutes ago up at the old farm house.

I'm totally jelous. I keep suggesting we seed Nebraska with wild hogs, but people keep shooting down that idea. I guess I need to visit the Southern States. I have family down in Texas. They would be horrified if I hung hog carcasses in their yard.

You gotta be careful with Hoover hogs, as they can carry Hanson's disease. There was an outbreak of Hanson's over in Florida a few years ago, after some folks came in contact with some of the infected critters.
