My name is Derick.
I'm 22 and currently an E2 in the US Navy, hailing from sunny Great Lakes, IL. Currently in Fire Controlman (not firefighting, we call them Damage Controlmen; we operate and maintain weapons systems) 'A' School, and eight months into active duty. Spent the previous two years going broke figuring out I didn't have the motivation to be in college yet.
Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, where my wife will be until she finishes her BS in May, and I ought to be in 'C' School in Virginia by then. Currently, I fully intend to return there after I get out, whenever that may be.
I found this website on Google while hoping to find a site like this, and I'm happy to see that there is.
I'll be lurking for a while, so don't expect too much activity right away.
