Yup, and some of them work fairly well too. We were just talking about those before the local ARES net tonight.

That's cheap for checking an encabulator, unless it's a Mk 1 check. If you have to get out the ecabulation frangdibulation meter though... it can easily triple the cost.

I just set up an ebay store: http://stores.ebay.com/Skelco-Eclectibles" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Check it out if you have a chance, not sure how much of the stock will be "zombie related" but I'm sure that's not the only thing that folks are interested here. Please check often ...

Re: Is it a water pump? Blockage? Radiator? (2002 Subaru WRX

Today, they say leaking GP moto upper radiator hose and bad clamp. They're screwing with the coils trying to reproduce the misfire that isn't apparent now. They said the spark plugs all looked fine. I replaced them 20,000 miles ago. Eh. I'll just be patient. The coils aren't the only thing they're ...

I say you should stop fucking with it. Your computer is broken Your AR-15 is broken Your WRX is broken Just get one of them reliable. Restore AR, use it to permanently "fix" WRX. Perhaps, in addition to your offer of paying for Will's ZS membership, you should get your mechanic at the dealership a ZS membership too? The mechanic at the dealership hasn't done anything but waste time and money. Yes, but if he were a member here he'd at least get good advice he could...

We established it was a bad head gasket on page one, didnt we? Yup. Over the Internet. For free. Meanwhile at the dealership, I'm at $421 bucks gone, it's getting worse, and the only thing they did was replace a thermostat that I took out and replaced 3 days before in my garage. Oh well, we'll see....

Re: Inflatable antenna tower

Actually, if you read the specs on it it does indeed require guys. And yes, if I could only pick one system it'd be the GRA-4. The fiberglass poles have their drawbacks, no argument there, but when you can get a dozen for less than ten bucks they're pretty cost effective. I did a quick read through...

Re: Inflatable antenna tower

I'll stick with the Al GRA-4 if given the choice. The fiberglass really doesn't handle abuse very well, nor direct contact with the elements for long periods of time. I've seen the fiberglass ones shatter from stress on more than one occasion. I've also put up the Al ones that were bent to shit, bu...

Re: Inflatable antenna tower

Each has its good points and its bad points TacAir. The fiberglass masts, while not as strong as the aluminum, and brittle in really cold temps, have a weight and cost advantage over the aluminum and, of course, are non-conductive. In a perfect world, I'd have both. :)

Personally, I think they'd be of very limited use in emergency situations. They're only rated for 30 mph winds, can only lift 5lbs, and require a constant 5.5amps (660 watts) of 120v power. In a true emergency you're likely to be running on battery power, and even with an inverter to provide the AC ...
