Re: An Increase in Violent Street Crime
Any big city - not just NO - is a scary place for the non-local. Living in AK makes me a non-local just about evrywhere. Years back, I took a gig in the remains of the old Soviet. My dad freaked out when he hears I was flying into Moscow. I told him, hey - it's not Miami.... About the only place I f...

Re: Counterpoise wavelength
The Yaesu will give better service, be easier to program and be of much better quality.
I move to Yaesu from Icom VHF gear some time back. Just - to me - easier to use.
Good luck!

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)
Hard to say how this current (inflamed) kerfuffle will turn out. Too many, on both sides, see this as a "Winner takes all" battle. With that mindset, there is bound to be a lot of collateral damage. We just haven't seen the full human cost - yet. What happens to those loft in the ashes will be telli...

Once upon a time, a "Bunker" looked like this https://exploringoffthebeatenpath.com/Battlefields/FortPhilKearney/BlockhouseE.jpg then, later, like this: https://keywest.floridaweekly.com/wp-content/uploads/images/2018-08-16/2p1.jpg Today, in N/A many look like this: mostly because things are still (...

Re: Sunburn COMMENT Thread
Thank you for the new chapters! The only Easter Egg that popped up for me was the robe that you can sleep in. I saw those in the Pillars of the Earth, but have not noticed them elsewhere. I was really hoping for a real cave of wonders with all sorts of tech. The way you have laid out the new civili...

Re: Into the Wild bus finally removed!
I don't mean to sound colder than an Alaskan winter, but...let 'em. sheesh. I'm a big believer in do as you wish, but you will have to live (or die) with the fallout. OTOH, The damn bus was an international "attractive nuisance" leading to the death of far too many bubble-heads. The State picked up...

This both interesting but not surprising in that the #s are increasing. Note politics at the link but the gist of the article is in the quote: https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/06/16/poll-34-of-american-voters-think-second-civil-war-is-likely/ The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone a...

Into the Wild bus finally removed!
https://www.outsideonline.com/2400297/hiker-dies-into-the-wild-bus-chris-mccandless More of a 'how not to survive". On any given summer we lost two or more tourists on a trip to see this stupid bus where a guy managed to die from sheer stupidity. Looking for the bodies swept downstream was expensive...

Just posted the end of Chapter six.
With luck, I'll get ch 7 knocked out this weekend.
When I post the next chapter, I'll removed all previous work, except the Prologue. Again, to protect my copyright.
Looking forward to nay comments.

@Nancy1340 - thanks! Please check your PMs. @FlashDaddy - as I pondered your response, I decided that your point on an old man climbing the mt might be hard to believe.
