Re: Nice Zombie-knife

I wouldnt be too quick to disregard Windlass knives, they are after all the sole supplier of khukris to the Ghurka regiment, as well as holding several other military contracts. The way I understand it, they supply the uniform dress kukris. The soldiers use their own in combat. I've handled Windlas...

Re: Your worst knife

Condor Bushlore Not my worst ever but it is the worst I currently own. It's a total pile of shit, even for $25. Do not believe any of the reviews out there - most that I read praised the blade and condemned the sheath, but I had the total opposite opinion of the knife. The grind is goofy and short ...

Re: Nice Zombie-knife

Windlass D-Guard Bowie I went searching for an anti-zombie weapon. It looks like a pretty nice combination of a fighting knife and a naval cutlass. Here's a video I found of it in use on YouTube. It looks like it handles pretty well. It weighs 1 pound and 5 ounces and has a 17-3/4" blade. Windlass ...

Re: scope mounts for Marlin 336

I got the 2-piece aim-through rails, and I'm perfectly happy. Works great with my Centerpoint red-dot. Made a thick, leather butt-cuff which helps with the cheek weld. Don't mind the bipod. Just threw it on there until the adapter stud comes in for my AR. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y277/TheyCa...

Re: Easy cheap mods for a remington 870 wingmaster

For home defense, though, a pump gun is more reliable and can still function if you happen to be using low-recoil buckshot. A quality semi auto is every bit as reliable as a pump if properly maintained. My 1100 has many thousands of rounds through it including my 7/8 ounce reloads without a single ...

Re: Easy cheap mods for a remington 870 wingmaster

people swear off guns all the time saying they are ugly as sin....mostly used to describe kel tecs or the ak series of rifles. if it helps in the fight and it looks good yay double positive. as far as a mag extension goes its a useful tool but it can be a crutch. i'd rather be good at reloading tha...

Re: Need Help: S&W K-frame, M1 Carbine

Any grips made for K or L frame will fit. I believe you mentioned you had a square butt, so just make sure you don't buy a round butt grip.

Go on Gunbroker and just search for "k frame grip" and you will get PLENTY of hits.

Re: Easy cheap mods for a remington 870 wingmaster

Along with what has been said, look into a heat shield for the barrel, it doesn't feel to good if you inadvertently grab the barrel when it's hot. Heatshields are pointless. They're added weight, and often screw up the finish of your barrel. Plus, how many rounds of continuous fire dies it take for...

Re: Easy cheap mods for a remington 870 wingmaster

I think the biggest question we need to know is... WHATS THE INTENDED FUNCTION OF THE GUN? If you want a tacticool toy, our answers are going to be a lot different than if you want a home defense firearm. I advise against single point slings. I know they're the new tactical trend now, but they're me...

Re: Which Katana (opinions wanted)

Eh, rapiers are designed as thin, edgeless, stabbing swords that can swish back and forth yet retain their shape... A piece of spring steel, sharpened at one end and with a handle stuck on the other would probably be as historically accurate and practical as it gets. This actually hurt me to read. ...

OK, related question: Will a SMALL bead of gorilla glue hold such things on without soaking through the fabric while drying? Anything that's going to properly adhere to a fabric is GOING to soak through. Look, hand-stitching isn't that difficult. It's time consuming, but not hard. If you're going t...

My anti-zombie 870. Just recently added the spike. Re: Armor?

In the PAW, you can always add sheet metal if you make it a habit of letting zombies get close enough to gnaw on you. That's the thing. No one plans on LETTING a zombie get CLOSE, but things don't always go the way you plan. The way you talk, you'd think seatbelts are only for people who make it a ...

Might work. But Campbells soup cans are not aluminum, they're lacquered steel and quite a bit thicker than a soda can. Close enough. :P Ninja Elbow: I'm pretty sure butted maille is just the formed ring. Not welded, not riveted, just an unjoined ring. I'm pretty sure there is no butted maille found...

Re: Armor?

I suppose it COULD be jury-rigged from cans, though I'd prefer solid, press-formed plate. Probably 1/16" thick ought to be acceptable. Maybe a bit thinner, but not a lot. Also I'd probably opt for, instead of articulating it like historical plate armor, riveting the plates to strong, synthetic-fibe...
