Re: Cooper; new stuff added 08/29/2018

They had slept in the truck, a cold, uncomfortable, broken sleep punctuated by starting awake whenever a noise sounded in the distance or the wind changed pitch. Before collapsing into their fitful sleeps, they had eaten some of the canned food from the police station, warmed over the gasifier gener...

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 08/29/2018

The long shadows stretched across the road as the sun began to touch the horizon line, to the east, the mountains had become small bumps on the horizon in the pending darkness they looked like clouds gathering for a storm. The gasifier rolled into a small town, on the map it said the name of the pla...

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 08/29/2018

Not Tim always liked to get out and away from the cabin. Though he had a pretty specular view from windows of his reclaimed vacation home, he never really got a chance to enjoy the scenery for what it was. It was when he was out away from the daily grind of the work he had to do each day that Not Ti...

Cooper came on his cross country skis to the home of Not Tim, while Not Tim was out tending to the animals and performing basic maintenance on the house, his water supply, clearing drifts snow from doors, chopping wood for the next round of bitter cold, and cleaning out the little barn and tossing t...

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 08/29/2018

Here's the next part. It took a turn, and I had to see where it went, I hope that you all enjoy it for what it is. Cooper was taking inventory in the walkout basement of the homestead, shifting through the bins of potatoes and carrots and parsnips and apples that were in the drawer system they had ...

The Cooper world is awesome...… any update on either of the other two stories? Really looking forward to them! I am. In the process of trying to finis...

Re: Mossberg 500 based home defense setup

Because it's one of the absolute best threads ZS has to offer: The Defensive Shotgun: How We Make It Work Thanks, man. I need to update that thing. My recommendations, just 'cause; Esstac shotgun card or three, a light, and a sling. Sights are a matter of preference, but don't get too fancy. It's a...

Thanks, man! I found a bunch of typos and word switches myself after posting, but as an excuse, l had a time l wanted to post this by, and l was running up against it putting the final chapter together. Sometimes I have to give myself a deadline or l ramble on. Glad you like the secondary characters...

The magistrate pounded the gavel to bring order to the court. Court was held in the church, since the old town hall was not big enough to contain all the people who had shown up for the event of the year. The balcony was occupied, the pews were packed, and there was standing room only in the back ne...

There was barely light in the room when Boone and Josh were awakened by firm knocking on the door to their room. Boone recognized the knock. Anyone who had spent time on the shady side of the law knew the firm, consistent pounding and what it meant. For a moment, Boone was transported back in time, ...

John Todd had looked over the horses and the mule. He had acted like he knew what he was looking at; indeed, he had milk cows and beef cattle and goats and chickens and pigs and hogs and acres of wheat and corn and gardens of vegetables and fruit trees, along with all kinds of helping hands in the f...

She gave them rooms off the second story balcony. Boone and Josh settled into the rooms and both men washed the dirt and dust of the road off their bodies in the deep bath tub. Sorry it took so long I was working on tree different stories for this, and this was finished first. Enjoy Boone reined in the horse and leaned on the saddle horn, his eyes sweeping over the valley below. The trees were green and heavy with leaves in the summer air. There had not been any amount of...

Ah, Doc.... just reread this series for the third or more time. I am hoping you may have some more of the Cooper world to share. Really excellent tales.

Re: the Defensive Shotgun; How we make it work--MilCopp Blog

Cooper once flippantly said he used a shotgun "loaded with silver dimes."

I don't know about the bird shot. I'd never recommend birdshot to anyone for anything other than birds.
