Re: Think twice about Robarms and the XCR

I would think if I am paying around 1k or more, and its a black rifle, I might take a good look at Bravo company since a lot of people like their parts and there seems to be a notable lack of bitching on overall QC. (prime complaint is their phones are too busy where you are trying to order somethin...

Re: Need a 9mm

Beretta 92FS - tends to run pricey but there is no shortage of parts. Considered very reliable, and a big chunky. Glocks - if you don't like manual safetys, or da/sa trigger pulls, consider a glock. Again no shortage of parts out there. Sizable used market CZ - I love the cz 75b. Its extremely old s...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

I liked this latest episode. *spoilers below - please disregard as needed* The twist of the "gang" they encountered was good. I half suspect the car and the alarm alerted the zombies and it just took them that long to find the camp. I am thinking since the camp has working vehicles, they may merge w...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

Don't think you need to worry about spoilers - its all pretty well telegraphed throughout. "How will Shane die?" is an unanswered question for me, not if he will. Did anyone else think Darryl was a bad/indifferent hunter? One, I counted 3 bolts in the deer with none in critical areas and Two, he se...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

If you did miss an episode, it looks like AMC the last week or two has been re-running the previous episodes Sunday nights before the new one. So do not lose hope if you miss one, and then... you may need to hold off on reading this thread. Also...if he only managed to salvage 700 rounds of ammo, th...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

figured the guy cut off his own hand for a couple of reasons 1. he's freaking mental and losing it. 2. He's betting that trying to cut well hardened and tempered steel with a hacksaw with what might just be a softer steel general purpose blade would fail, or he might die of exposure before he gets i...

Get a thick, heavy pewter stein/mug without a glass bottom.

Use it like brass knuckles.. Its not the tool, its the sick little college puke using the tool

Re: Which Katana (opinions wanted)

I will go on a limb here. Get a machete, of good tool steel, and shop wisely and pay no more than 40 bucks. Why? If you don't know what you're doing and d*ck around withe a Katana and cause serious blade damage, its going to be expensive heartbreak. Or if it gets lost, stolen, confiscated, etc... Ma...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

actually, i liked the second episode even more than the first. i hope this trend continues.

the zombie guts/smell idea was a nice creative idea. Out of popcorn, watching the encore showing, might need a coffee refill, with a little bailey's this time.

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

Huh so what is the most unrealistic thing in the show? Glocks and safeties? Spike strips flipping cars? What about the zombie apocalypse? Somehow that doesn't seem very likely to me. Shoot him in the head and light the corpse on fire. We got us a talking zombie infiltrator! (j/k...well..most...

Re: Mom's Journal of the Zombie Years

This is my surviving is on the completed stories forum. Awesome work. Her newest one is quite good, it also puts the main character into a almost worse case scenario - extreme situation, limited preps, far from home, and everyone she could really trust is dead. All of her works on frugal's include n...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

Well.. fortunately AMC already ordered a 2nd season before the first show was aired... so it means it is unlikely to get a firefly treatment, I also heard it had the best first show ratings of any program in AMC history. That... is a heck fo a good start in my book, and speaks well to the future of ...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

well... i think regardless of minor issues, its a heck of a good series and some of the better tv we can expect to see right now. As far as the uniform, I felt like it might have been part security blanket. I mean, it does idnetify him as law enforcement/authority, but its also his way of maybe tryi...

still pretty sure the front view of the tankw as oen of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M60_Patton" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it was wierd because the scene with him going around the side of the tank showed m-1 like armor plates, but the turret did not at all look like a abra...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

They changed enough from the comic book to keep me hooked the whole time. Great stuff. That's a good sign that they changed it without breaking it. Sometimes changing a book for a tv series is necessary and even good, know that they changed it without wrecking the fundamental story is a real good s...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

I dig it, a lot. Not typical zombie style by any means, IMO. Some actual emotion and less all out gore. I am really stoked. That's what makes it really, really good. Even the survivors are victims of the trauma of a world with zombies in it. Heck of a great start so far. edit - the fact that some o...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

Maybe Minor Spoiler Warning! *facepalm* Glocks don't have safeties on the slide. Funny part was if you look at how he cleared/checked his weapon and then moved his thumb over the slide, that WOULD have been proper protocol for a SIG or any number of pistols with safeties. It was the right technique...

But anyways back to moral obligations, i think it's important we don't lose touch with our human nature. Helping people is good, it might get you killed or decrease you're chances of survival, but it is honorable. yep. Of all the things you accumulate in life, Honor is what you take with you into t...
