Re: A drive by in my Neighborhood tonight

On another tack, a I normally toss out when speaking to civic, service, and Neighborhood Watch groups is appropriate here: if you would not go into a specific situation unarmed, don't go into it armed . In other words, do not place yourself into situations where you may have to use a weapon. if you...

Re: A drive by in my Neighborhood tonight

I want to thank everyone for their comments, advice and concern. We all stayed in the house until after the police arrived, secured the scene and starting the interview process with the neighborhood about a block away from where the shooter's car crashed and was abandoned. By then all the neighbors ...

Re: A drive by in my Neighborhood tonight

1) They mentioned that they were carrying or went and grabbed their conceal carry gun 2) I did not have a visible firearm outside of my house at any point for exactly those reasons. I did set the shotgun next to the front door while I was assessing the situation and then felt I'd be better off with ...

Re: A drive by in my Neighborhood tonight

Forgot to add that I did do a walk through of my property looking under cars, in the garage and other possible hiding spots with my concealed carry pistol on my side and wife watching from the house. Makes me realize I have no idea how to properly clear an area or room.

A drive by in my Neighborhood tonight

Just had a car drive down our street shooting a gun at a guy running away. I didnt hear the shots but my daughter was inthe front of the house and asked Mom if that was fire works. Being light out my wife looked out to see this car chasing down a guy running away and firing at him. We and the neighb...

Re: Blueberry Hill - Building a Garden Shed Sized Chicken Co

It's actually half sand half compost/soil/composting manuer. These beds are a small partnered project Tater and I are doing together. We plan on growing comfrey for several products one being Root cuttings and we wanted the soil to be easy to dig without damaging the plant. Another benefit is if the...

Re: Blueberry Hill - Building a Garden Shed Sized Chicken Co

Looking great Tater!! Question why on Earth would you use the wheelbarrow to fill those planters? You have a front end loader use it! You can drive the tractor in between the beds but there's not enough room to turn it and dump the load. He should be able to fill the bottom bed entirely with ...

Re: Blueberry Hill - If You're Having Fun is it Still Work?

Procyon, Tater's pond site is at the one of lowest point if the property, well away from and below the basement of the house. I think Tater is going to dig it 5 or 6 feet deep but I agree with you that he should dig it once. Once its a pond you won't want to try dredging more out. Stocking the pond ...

Re: Blueberry Hill - If You're Having Fun is it Still Work?

That hedgerow diagram is rather interesting. But that is a LOT of rocks. just average it you're looking at 6' high, 8 foot wide at the base. How many feet are you looking to go with this? Not only rocks but you're going to need to have dirt on it too. Probably have the dirt sit on the rocks for a b...

Just looked through the Photobucket album, with no captions and not being there it's a fun guessing game of WTF is going on in some pics. It's heartwarming to see that Hennessy and ENO weren't the only 'hammocks' at ZCon  .

Re: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Highway Cleanup

When you're with Tater sometimes weird things happen .... Sometimes he sees a giant cloud of black smoke and finds himself attracted to like mouth to a flame. Then sometimes he drives right up the driveway of the property that's on fire and parks so close you can feel the heat and leaves his pal and...
