Re: H&R Handirifle 45-70 power on a budget.
He's arguing a technicality. But he is correct. Smokeless powder is classified as a propellant, not an explosive. Therefore it falls under different rules for handling/storage/purchase/allowable qty. Black powder is classified as an explosive. At the end of the day, no matter how you want to argue t...

Re: Effective range for a .22 LR?
Depends entirely upon what you're shooting at, what you're shooting it out of, how good you are, and what kind of work you're willing to put into recovery. A 22 will kill game a long way from the muzzle. But it isn't going to do it with anything short of a brain shot, quickly. If you don't mind doin...

Re: H&R Handirifle 45-70 power on a budget.
I would just like to point out that you CAN NOT safely load black powder in any rifle round.... If you are going to handload PLEASE follow safety procedures and posted recipes from powder and bullet manufacturers. You can believe what ever you want but I've reloaded .223, 30-30, 45/70 and 308 with ...

Re: movement upon contact
You disagree, but then you pretty much said exactly what I said :?: What I was saying is that its situationally dependent. That attacking through the ambush, dropping prone, getting off the X, etc it all depends on your scenario/surroundings, and you need to be adaptable. You have to make a decision...

Re: movement upon contact
IMO, the biggest difference in IA drills, is situational. You have to be able to make a decision on the fly, based upon what you see, and the surroundings/environment and go with it. Not making a decision will get you killed. We can all sit around and talk about how VOA and IA saves the day. But her...

pretty much anything in a bolt action would bake more sense.
If accuracy was what you were after, it'd be hard to beat a CZ 452.

Re: 10/22 Ruger into a M200 Cheytac Intervention
Ok, but again why put a semi auto into a bolt action body?
There are litterally tons of viable automatic, and semi-automatic bodys you could find to drop a semi auto rifle into that would make tons more sense.

Why would you put a semi-auto 22 into a bolt action body?
I mean, I think a 22 M200 would be kind of neat for plinking at the range. But I'd atleast stick with a bolt action.

Re: Memphis Woman's Dying Words Help Boyfriend Who Shot Her
Again a 12 year old breaking into house to steal my xbox? Not exactly a likely scenario. But even if it did happen, I'd be perfectly legal holding him at gun point, or letting my retired MP dog have a go at him. However, the point of what I was saying, which you missed, was that anyone who's breakin...

Re: Memphis Woman's Dying Words Help Boyfriend Who Shot Her
I would have mentioned what if the person in question was just a 12-year-old kid messing around in the wrong place, but you said "period, end, full stop" before I got a chance, so I guess no further discussion is possible or permitted now. I really don't think its realistic to expect a 12 year old ...

Re: Memphis Woman's Dying Words Help Boyfriend Who Shot Her
I don't see where there is a problem.
If they're in your house, they're wrong period, end, full stop.
It doesn't matter if they're just going to steal your stuff, or trying to kill you, the threat is exactly the same, and should be dealt with precisely the same way.

Re: Which material for chitosan gauze?
I don't know if folks "hoard it away".........aaaaa, you gotta remember, hemostatics are used for basically convenience now. Remember that for hundreds of years, folks were still getting bleeding basically controlled using a conunction of their steps so it's not imperative in any way to get hemosta...

Re: You Receive A Phone Call, The Clock is Ticking *6 Months
Assuming ofcourse, that someone could actually make me beleive that it was actually happening my thought process is fairly simple. Apply for as many CC's as I can get my hands on, especially ones with 12 mo 0%. Apply for as big a loan from as many banks as I can get (thank god for a great credit sco...

Re: Pimping out my m1 garand
Where the issues become more prevalent, and what I meant by ammo your gun is not designed for, is when you run on either end of the spectrum extremes. When guys start throwing the 180-200 or 220 grain bullets, or the light bullets,at extremely fast velocitys, you run into issues over-gassing your g...

Re: Tactical vest??
You would be much better served with a good pistol belt, holster and 2-3 mag pouches, than you would with a NcStar vest, or anything similar to that.
If you really feel the need for a vest, you can get a military FLC for fairly cheap. And molle on whatever pouches you feel a need for.

Re: What would your ideal PAW job be?
Your militia doesn't have to be tougher than the gangs, just tougher than the village down the road. Let the village down the road adopt that same philosophy, and there won't be much gang predation any more. You said it yourself, gangs target the weak - they aren't looking for a fight, they are loo...

Re: What would your ideal PAW job be?
My point was everyone is going to need to be a soldier in addition to their day job. Remember the scene in 300. You have soldiers, and you have guys who work during the day, and are part of the militia at night. As the conflicts in Iraq, A-stan, and all over Europe (Kosovo, Croatia) and Africa have...

My question to that, would be while I agree, both groups have been effective at harassing military groups. What does the casualty list look like on either side? In just about every event where a western military has faced off with a militia, or non conventional military force, the militia, has take...

Re: Pimping out my m1 garand
Just FYI incase you didn't know. But this is completely incorrect, and shooting ammo its not designed for, will eventually bend your op-rod and disable your gun. For the M1 or M1a, you need the schuster nut to be able to safely use modern ammunition, aside from the ammo made just for the M1 and M1a...

Re: What would your ideal PAW job be?
Militias seem to do great when they face enemies that have limited air support and artillery. Could we cite a couple of examples? I would use Libya, as a good example, the rebels, while not being supported by the UN were pretty much getting rolled up an massacred, right up till we stepped in and fl...
