Re: Getting a trust for gun purchases

I was told anyone that had a trust before the effective date is grandfathered in and that suspense date is around June? And after doing a quick internet search, I haven't found anything that says he has banned trust gun purchases, only proposed to do so.

Getting a trust for gun purchases

Has anyone done this? I just pulled the trigger and got one, just curious about everyone else's experience/price/etc? I got mine from 199Trust that I saw advertised on Westfork Armory's FB page for $99. Simple fill in the box format and had it emailed back to me the next day. I have yet to use it, b...

Re: Shernic SKS Bullpup conversion

I FINALLY got around to getting the linkage adjusted and able to fire... And basically I agree with everything Tom2112 said in his post. It is a blast to shoot and looks cool. As of now mine won't take the 30 rd mags, but I'll fix that. I have a Bushnell scope on it my FiL gave me and it's remarkabl...

Though the email ad I got said $19.99 till they changed it after I emailed them about the $10 extra on my bill. We'll see what becomes of it... I've got all the parts in hand or ordered fo...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms rela

I snagged one of PSA's daily deals... A 12" bbl AR upper with the standard A2 style hand guards and front sight. Flat top upper CHF 1:7 twist with BCG and charging handle for $399 :)
Then got 150 rd's of AE XM855 5.56 from Walmart.

Re: sks for a mini 14???

Why does everyone complain about the box mags on the SKS rifles when they are so easily removed and made to take the duckbill mags? My FIL has a mini14 and even with his 4x red dot scope, I shoot circles around it with my SKS and iron sights. I love my SKS and wouldn't even consider trading it for ...

Robins are a popular game bird in England, much like quail in the US, so I'm sure that homeless fellow was telling the truth.

Re: Facts: Arrow WILL penetrate a human skull

The design of a mechanical broad head that opened only after a few inches of penetration really isn't that hard. Make the point itself 3" long roughly and put some kind of trigger mechanism at the point where the arrow meets the base of the point. That way when that "trigger" get to the skull, it al...

Re: Dug out my crawlspace

Those landscaping blocks you used are ok according to code when used like that in your basement? We use much larger ones at work everyday to do retaining walls around our swimming pools and such, but never would have thought to use them like you did, way to think outside the box, lol. I'm a concrete...

Re: TSA Approved Self Defense Items

I'm too lazy to read your link, but I have two large snap-links that I've used for rappelling for years that would double as great brass knuckles... They are clipped to the outside of my day pack that is my carry on every time I fly. TSA has never looked twice at them...

I would say hard... A "ball" doesn't penetrate that great anyway, so I don't thing you have to worry about over penetration on anything other than small animals.

Re: converting a tool shed into a home

Exactly... Some of the bigger ones are $5-6,000 and only really have $1500-2000 in material in them... Not to mention I can engineer it to fit what I want a little better. I could find 100's of plans online too if I actually needed them.

I've always thought some of those large sheds would make a nice little cabin... But you can build them cheaper yourself and they are easier to transport that way, lol.

Re: AR bullets for Hogs

Good info guys. I've been wanting to do a hog hunt for a long time and have been pondering what I would use out of my safe if I ever got the chance... I have a 5.56 AR that I really want to use, but wasnt 100% sold on it as a big hog killer. I figured my .270 would be perfect and even have an SkS or...

I wish I would have taken pictures during the assembly, but I didn't think about it since I spent more time trying to find the right Allen wrench to put this together. But I do have some before and after pics and can take some disassembled pics when I paint it... The before: a simple Norinco, never ...

Re: WWII Soviet Steel Helmet vs SKS & Mosin Nagant

I did a similar test years ago with a standard issue Kevlar helmet that the US army uses... I shot it with .22LR, .40, .270 and .300 win mag... Mostly because that's what I had. The only one that didnt penetrate was .22lr, and it still bubbled the inside enough to give the wearer some serious head ...
