What I've been up to: Cowboy holster/gunbelt for my magnum!

Hey guys! Finals have been keeping me busy, but I managed to fart out this project:

It's in a leather working contest, check out some of the other entries, the hat in particular is pretty awesome.

I totally do, I'm putting a CB in my Vette very soon. I realized I had an old Realistic 40ch that still works, I just to buy an antenna.

Re: Some basic CB help

Allrighty, think Im going to go with a NGP Firestick designed for a motorcycle, and do something "fab"ulous to mount it in place of my dead AM FM motorized antenna: http://www.corvettemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/corvette-antenna-mast-fix-lead.jpg I've got a coupe, not a convertible, but placemen...

Re: Some basic CB help

Just did some reading, and I understand why it won't work, I thought it was simply a mounting issue. If I understand correctly, most marine antennas are NGP, so I should be looking at a marine antenna? Because I'd prefer not to spend $150 on an antenna at this time. $50-60 for a gadget sounds good t...

Re: Some basic CB help

Yeah I see it's a mag mount, but for $15 I'm pretty sure I can convince it to work. I'm starting with a free radio here, cut me some slack  My amp is hooked up with a 4 gauge battery ground, is this a viable option to ground the antenna, or would I be introducing interference in my audio/radio?

Re: Some basic CB help

To replace your old FM antenna, look for a kind of mount called a "cowl mount". They are common made for a specific model or tear, so you may have to dig a bit to find one. On the plus side, it is low profile, reducing the chance of theft... Good luck. Cowl mount ehh? From what I'm seeing online, t...

Some basic CB help

Hey gang, I have a 20+ year old Realistic 40 channel CB radio that I am planning on properly mounting into my car (I have a spare DIN slot it can occupy). I just plugged it in today to test it with the somewhere between 2 and 3 foot antenna that screws into the back of it, and I picked up some chatt...

Plot synopsis sounds awful but its actually a great movie. Makes for good discussion partnered with that new movie "her".

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

Chimp a current striped lower out here is $100, seen some at Ares Armory poly lowers for $50. Seen a PSA full AR kit minus lower for $499.99 so the math says $600 you can have a AR. Yep, which is why the Mini-14 is off the wish list now. I will have an AR at some point and I might even build it mys...

Just downloaded the SA, played with FF88 the other night. We where meeting up at Balota and some how mis-communicated on who saw who. Totally walked right up to a guy, saluted him, then found out it wasn't FF88 when he shook my hand with an axe.

Yay me...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

Rambling: Tough choices. My personal philosophy is to fill up on the "basics" before one goes back for seconds (this is a personal thing, but for me "basics" would be 1 x pistol, 1 x shotgun, 1x tac rifle, 1x hunting/long-range rifle). If you already have a pistol, you could put that money towards ...

Anyone know of any fight manuals for these things? Just a quick YouTube search brought back this channel, started watching some, seems semi-...

I used to make a big show of packing every tacticool blade I had. I've grown up. I carry a Mora electrician's knife at work because it is damn useful, very safe (rounded point), and scary sharp. I generally also have my skeletool on or about my person, and a snap-off razor blade. These are all "tool...
