Re: "Daily COVID-19 SITREP In Your Area"

One of our local hospitals had 45 employees test positive and they are now on sick leave. This is about 3% of their staff but it is unknown at this time what positions they held. One of our local nursing homes is fully involved, practically everyone there has it. It is important to keep in mind that...

Isn't that sort of the rub with a Politician of either ilk? The rules they make are good enough for you and me, just not good enough for THEM
It has nothing to do with politics it has to do with people with power vs people not with power.

Re: Netflix: The Assignment

I really like Michelle Rodriguez and Weaver but I didn't much care for the movie. I watched it a few months ago all the way through and was confused, baffled and could not buy in. The reality of SRS is so different than what was portrayed it was almost insulting. Those people go through absolute hel...

Re: "Daily COVID-19 SITREP In Your Area"

Alabama now has mandatory masks. We have been advised not to ticket or arrest but to "educate" non-compliant individuals. Because having been informed by every source of media known to mankind continuously to wear a mask some people still might not have got the message or understood it. However bein...

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)

The paranoia is setting in, too....as some folks are presuming that some of the individuals being "snatched" are actually informants, and the Feds are just making a show of "detaining" them in order to actually take them to a secure location where they can be debriefed. And others, who are not info...

Re: COVID-19 Chat Thread

I'd like to see a comparison that separates nursing home populations from the general population. I'm curious if nursing homes are disproportionately represented because they're full of old and infirm people, or because they're nursing homes and increase exposure. In CA, NJ NY & LA recovering COVID...

MPD Officers are taking a more interesting route of leaving. Seems some of them picked up something from the people they deal with.

There is going to be a lot more of this in impoverished nations that try a lockdown. Also any video with people running down the street on fire is pretty scary.

This story seemed relevant: Federal Officers Use Unmarked Vehicles To Grab People In Portland, DHS Confirms - 3 min audio at the webpage. This one freaked me out a bit. As long as due process is followed and folks get a lawyer at the police station, I'm sorta ok with this. But it smells and feels a...

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)

This concept of build and improve seems to have been replaced at some point in the last few months with the doctrine of make everyone suffer by burning everything down and destroying everything. Anarchy, chaos and violence are never good answers to any problem. You do not tear down that which is fu...

I definitely worry about how my adult kids will function in this new world. Adult kids is where the concept of Free Will becomes applicable. Proper education is the most important part. Since it is so easy (these days especially) to point to untruths in the media and from political leaders that mak...

If "de-funding" kicks off in earnest or otherwise things kick off to a higher level, I expect our world to look a little different. The article below is informative: https://news.yahoo.com/amphtml/special-report-drug-cartel-narco-110728469.html Of note: nature abhors a vacuum. If the government can...

It should be worth noting that while the protests have calmed most places they have been persistent in Portland with six weeks with a riots on multiple days per week. Part of this may be games the city police are playing. They are not allowed to use OC/CS without "declaring" a riot.

Man, I wish they still made the 96/44. Used prices on them are silly. Give Ruger a couple years and they'll bring out a new version like they did with the PC carbine. Didn't Ruger used to make a semi-auto .44 mag carbine ? The Deerfield I think is what it was called. They did. The Model 44 chambere...

Property crimes are down, probably because people are at home more now than they used to be. That and lots of businesses are closed or on reduced hours. Most of the shoplifting that takes place at Walmart for example occurs from midnight to four in the morning. What little staff that is on the floo...

I was just acknowledging that there are brand snobs when it comes to anything, and while it may be warranted for professionals or those who use things very frequently, for the average guy these things can provide reasonable value. Agreed, at the end of the day if the items doesn't get much use it w...
