Re: Survival tips on index cards - could we make them?

That Pocket mod idea is the best one yet in my opinion. You could even cut each section out, lay them out in the correct orientation and laminate the whole thing, then fold them. Hmmmm ... now to look up some general survival tips.

Re: Survival tips on index cards - could we make them?

One could print a PocketMod booklet on Tyvek paper. The PocketMod software is free. There are also Word templates (that would allow one to retain any unchanged information from one version to the next). Here's one , and another, simpler, one THAT is an excellent idea! What we really need to do now ...

Re: Survival tips on index cards - could we make them?

Hello All There use to be a laminated set of Survival cards out. They are Lee Nading's plastic "Survival Cards". I got mine at Campmor, but Campmore does not have them in stock at all and quick search of campmor.com as well as Google proved fruitless. There is an excellent web page bout SERE and th...

Re: Survival tips on index cards - could we make them?

KEWL! So its matter of how we are going to proceed, content, cost, etc. Now can we get these cards in different colors? Maybe then we could color code the contents. I was also thinking of a little slip pouch for them, or even a grommet through the corner of them (depending on how many there are) and...

Survival tips on index cards - could we make them?

I had a thougth about finding a good source of general survival tips in bullet statement format and putting them on index cards, then laminating them. Maybe even on business card sized cards for even more compactness. Maybe thats something Zombie Squad could do. What do you think?

Good high quality "bivy" shelters?

I've looked around and seen some, but does anyone have any experience and ideas for compact bivy shelter-tents? I'd prefer them with floor but not mandatory. Thanks for any suggustions!

Re: Got my new EDC/BOB yesterday... with pics....

Actually, I wore it to work last nite, loaded down and decided that I need to go with something a little smaller, it gets a little too heavy for me as I'm a short POS. I put it up for sale over at EDCF....

Re: Got my new EDC/BOB yesterday... with pics....

i saw the preview shots of this on lightfigher, is it as easy to get in front as they say? Its very easy to get into the main compartment and the larger front compartment. The smaller compartment is a little more difficult due to the Y compression strap (which you dont' have to secure but then it f...

Re: Got my new EDC/BOB yesterday... with pics....

Yes it's seems to be the same size as my Pygmy Falcon II I'm trying to sell which was kind of a shock. it is thinner and slightly narrower though. All in all, a great bag. I like the handle on the side for "briefcase" style carry too.

Re: BOMS: Bug Out Mobile Shelter?

Even though I already have a camper, its' a big, heavy, "family" camper that may not be too practical as a BOMS in a WTSHTF situation. I've been seriously considering one of those smaller, lighter - and more easily camoflauged - teardrop style campers. I've been a member of that other forum there fo...

BOMS: Bug Out Mobile Shelter?

I recently purchased a '09 Kodiak 19ft camper and I keep it plugged in and ready to go at a moments notice just in case the zombies invade. What about you? Do you have a BOMS? Incase you are interested, there are small campers that you can build yourself that would make EXCELLENT BOMS. Probably the ...

The acronyms on these forums, can you decode them for me?

So I can figure what a lot of them mean, but how about BIL and GHB? I can guess that GHB refers to BOBs' in a way. I am member of several other forums related to this subject matter on some level, like edcforums, candlepower forums etc. Maybe there should be a acronym list for the uninitiated here....

Re: Hello from the Peoples' Repulik of New Jersey....

Thanks for the welcome. I need to ask some seemingly dumb questions though... Is this a real organization that is serious about DP and survival? I ask because of the whole "zombie thing". In my mind the "zombie" is the unprepared fool, er, person walking around after a disaster with their mouth agap...
