The weird thing is the plain Pmag cost more than the custom painted ones. 16.99 versus 11.99 at my local hardware store.
That's quite a difference :?

Re: A present for my wife ...

This is a fortuitous thread. I'm curious about a light rifle for my wife *and* there is discussion about Henry rifles in this thread. I was thinking that the Henry AR-7 would be suitable for her. https://www.henryusa.com/rifles/u-s-survival-ar-7/ Light, compact, maximum effective range is appropria...

New guy here. 50+ years old. Retired medical. Into lots of different edc/preparedness topics. All the usual. Found this sight while looking years ago for some threads from "Arch" on his kits. As an aside does anyone here have a link to an article/post called "A Realistic B.O.B"? I have tried to fin...

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

I had a really dumb thought flash through my brain a minute ago. Y'all know the Magnum Research BFR revolvers, right ? I wonder if anyone has ever thought to have one chambered in something like 7.62x39. Now this probably wouldn't work considering the 7.62x39 is kind of tapered and all of the chamb...

Bought a house with five acres in the country yesterday. The next closest neighbors are at least a 1/4 mile away. The wife and I decided that we were sick of living in the suburbs.

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

Good luck, it always feels weird. You may need to adjust your sights as well. I find that I don't shoot to the same POI with my off hand. I try to work in at least one mag each range visit so it feels less awkward. Slide wracking is tough too, but my current CCW came with steel Vickers sights, so b...

Re: "Daily COVID-19 SITREP In Your Area"

This past weekend I was able to go to South Mississippi and stopped in a couple of big box stores on the way. There was very little mask usage in any of the stores in South MS. The Walmart and Home Depot were very busy but still well stocked. Nothing unusual. I even went to an open restaurant and w...

:ohdear: x ∞ ETA this: Honestly, I think they wouldn't, out of sheer economic pragmatism. If the US collapses into a civil war (hot civil war, whatever), the world markets go with it. Right now, neither China nor Russia could take that. However, both benefit from an "upset" United States. They need ...

Welp, I hope the defunding/budget cuts a lot of departments across the country are looking at won't adversely affect their equipment selection/availability. :ooh: Lots of people disagree! But advocating for better armed or worse armed police isn't a great topic for ZS, so moving on! It could affect...

I'll be in Iowa for as long as it's tenable. Some parts of the PNW & the SE CONUS look good. It's a fluid thing, atm. The gut feeling that I should get out of my little corner of the PNW has been growing. It would be real hard for me to leave the amazing network of people I have here. I don't see t...

Re: Atlanta Walkout

Of note, it seems that Minnesota has a castle doctrine for the home, but not businesses or other such; outside of the home they have a duty to retreat. If they're reducing the police force, I wonder if that will end up changing. Given the guy that wishes he'd given his car keys to a mugger, I'm not...
