A .22lr in the target always beats a .44 mag in the wall.
This is truth!

That is why for new CCW holders when asked I say chose that with which you can hit.
Ignore the caliber wars; the only thing that matters are on target hits. If that means a .22 LR ... so be it.

Re: Choosing a rifle for a small frame deer hunter

It's kind of a local thing I think, but you can get a Savage Axis (II), with bore-sighted decent glass, from Academy sporting goods for like $350. My go-to recommendations for new shooters who want to step up from .22 is one of those in .243 Winchester. Solid, complete, but inexpensive gun. Flat-sh...

Re: Guns for women chl holders

Looking at their listed location though, what's available will be restricted severely by what's allowed in that state. Agreed; that limitation along with the fact that finding CCWs in stock is also very difficult does indeed limit choices a lot. That said my advice remains unchanged. Except that th...

Re: Guns for women chl holders

IMO a Glock 19 (any gen) is an excellent pistol. You can also find used Glocks at decent price (or at least you used to be able do that  ) It is rather like a Honda Accord. It is very reliable, inexpensive(relative terms), dependable, long lived and It has many after market parts. That said, ...

In an unrelated search I found this product and thought I would simply mention it. https://www.cole-tac.com/product/vulcan-suppressor-pouch/ This is what caught my attention. This is not your ordinary suppressor pouch. It is lined with the same proprietary fire-resistant material that is rated to 18...

I am going to suggest that you commission a custom holster either locally or from one of the many custom holster guys. I have used these guys and if you tell them you want a bespoke holster to your design they will do it. https://epsaddlery.com/ I have not used these folks but I am told they do good...

Re: Arson/Attacks/Vandalism in Houses of Worship - 2020

A church as well as a homeless shelter and public kitchen attached to the Catholic Church was damaged last night. The church had been a frequent target in the "peaceful" protests. The homeless shelter was ransacked which means the hundreds of people they feed everyday will likely go without for the ...

A non political description of the 12th amendment to the US Constitution and the process that will be followed if the 2020 election goes to the Congress for a decision: Congress ratified the 12th Amendment in 1804. The amendment clarified the process by which electors should vote. More importantly, ...

Re: Preps for a Contested Election in November

Well, the prediction for a contested election seems to be likely. It's very odd how many large cities in battleground states have been delaying returns, which increases the chance for legal challenges to the reported results. If anything that seems to be good, as a contested election seems less lik...

At one time, a man could just walk into a gun store & buy a BAR, right off the shelf. In my lifetime an adult could walk into an army surplus store, whip out a $20 and from different wooden barrels select either a SMLE, 1917 Enfield or a 1903a3 of you choice and get change back. No form 4473 needed...

A quick dive on the web shows many church's ban firearms in the facility. Given the number of different churches shot up of late, I find the reaction most curious. About 10 years ago I took a tactical class that was mostly made up of cops and mega-church security guards, so at least then there was ...
