Re: IWI Jericho

I love them. Not sure how familiar you are with their history, but it can be a little complicated like all CZ75 clones. From what I remember, they were built off of Tanfoglio tooling, so a clone of a clone. Originally IMI manufacturing, then changed names to IWI for Jericho and Baby Uzi (I think). B...

Re: Dogan's car replacement quest, or, talk me out of a hybrid Escape.

Anyone know a hybrid that does not use a CVT?

I generally hate CVTs, but on a hybrid system, they seem to be an ok option.

Re: Dogan's car replacement quest, or, talk me out of a hybrid Escape.

Escape hybrids are amazing. Similar system to the Prius. Batteries are generally far exceeding expected life spans. NY taxi escape hybrids are getting like 400k miles before major repairs. Skip the 2008 model years. They are the same under the body as the gen 1 models. They only updated the body pan...

Re: A reasonably priced BOV.

Great vehicles. I assume since it's the full time 4wd that it's a V8? I've said it on here before, but if it's the V6, check the radiator/transmission class action suit that should have been a recall. 2005-2010 or 2011 models of frontier, Pathfinder, Xterra. Basically, a plastic tube can break and d...

Re: Firearms Fails: The Wall of Shame

I had received a bunch of loose packed ammo in steel cans. I was unpacking them, and removing the brown paper that was in the cans for transport. And since I had a fire going already I was wandering out of my garage and putting the paper in the fire, and going back to unpack the next one.... How ma...

Re: Firearms Fails: The Wall of Shame

I took my "new" BM59 to my friend's place today and put a box of Federal M80 ball ammo through it to check accuracy and function. My first shot was way the hell off, low and to the right. Then I realized that I had lined up the left "ear" that protects the front sight and not the sight post....

What do you think of a tough mudder style event where you get to test out your gear and survival skills? How would an event like this get organized? Huge foresty property with a perimeter you can't leave. Hunger Games kind of vibes. Maybe have people play zombies and do some sort of reenactment. We...

Polygon is so 2015. They need to get over themselves. I think their business model is similar to tabloid mags at the grocery store. They just put ridiculous and extreme views online, knowing people will click to see the insanity, while being supported by a small group of loons who actually believe....

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

So I'll be placing my order for a Romanian Tokarev in the coming week and now I'm already planning on getting rid of the goofy import safety. My problem is deleting the safety will leave two holes in the frame, but I figure any competent gunsmith could fix that issue since I don't feel comfortable ...

I've traded and wheeled and dealed kinda constantly, always changing my collection and narrowing and expanding my tastes.... But only one gun I truly regret trading and wish I had not... Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

So, change of plans. Instead of buying the upper for my AR, I'm going with picking up a Romanian TTC Tokarev pistol. I've been considering getting one for awhile and I figure for a little less than what I'd pay for the upper, I could get a full gun instead of half of one. The upper will still be pu...

Speaking of .357/9mm convertibles, there's always the Taurus 629 SS Multi-Caliber ....with a reported weight of 46 oz. and a 6.5" handle...err...barrel, you could always use it as a blunt weapon when the action locks-up. https://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/af242/boomslang45/tomato.gif https://www....

Re: Revolver in 9mm: S&W or Chiappa?

I'd go Smith. It's just a better gun. The Chiappas are cool, but they are too expensive in my opinion. Now, you're talking range and possibly reloading... You want a good value, legacy gun that is reliable and useful and built to handle anything.... Ruger Blackhawk Convertible in 9mm/.357. Then get ...

I just don't understand...

There's no warning for an earthquake, aftershocks excluded.

So what use is a helmet cuz you wont have time to don it.... Unless you wear it all the time....

Then why does it fold?

The inventor needs to wear a helmet

Re: Half of millennials and 75% of Gen Zers have left their job for mental health reasons

Agreed with the above. It's the "definition game". Mental health does not equate to mental illness. And mental illness and mental health are very broad terms nowadays. Leaving a job because it sucks and I hate it would be mental health. Leaving a job because I was moving or got promoted or finished ...
